I have a problem with the new XM....Canadian pricing.....

If i am not mistaken the XM with all the rebates/incetives is cheaper compared to when i bought my 08.

As for chassis strength, it is the same chassis guys, only major diffrence is the plastics, front a-arms, and T-motion rear skid. t-motion in my mind is the only concern for me... everything else seems to work well. Clutching, gearing, rider postion, engine, wiring, etc are already worked out on previous models no.

There was issues with the running boards cracking on the protos, hopefully they got that worked out. Would be nice to see a manu sell a sled that costs as much as an fn car have minimal problems, and right now the xm may be at the front of the line unless the rmk really does have new cylinders and pistons. Race to reliability! Oh ya the pc is tryin to get in there too, seems all new sleds are being shipped without a clutch, new design they couldnt get out in time?

If you take a look at the tmotion there will be no snapping of this. Especially since it moves very minimal. And once airborne it would go back to straight anyways. The front arm is the same but split...

The rear arm heim joint is very beefy. You will be breaking bones before that skid.

Not to mention im sure BRP test riders have given it a few hard landings

I think the problem with the XM will the same as all brands, dealers going out of business and BRP not replacing them. I know this might only leave the good ones which is good for them but I really don't like the thought of having only a couple dealers per province for each brand. I know of 3 dealers in the last year alone that have gone out of business or lost their sled line.

I heard of 1 Cat, one Doo and one Poo in Southern Alberta and lots over the last couple of years in BC.

The only new one I have heard of is Cycleworks just opened a new shop in Okotoks recently and Aaron in Golden picked up Yamaha a couple of years ago now. More closing than opening due to guys ordering parts direct from the US. BRP has reponded by lowering (but not enough) parts prices in Canada and having US retailers sign contracts that prohibit sales to Canada.

Who is they? Is Turple on the ropes too? I heard of a Yamaha dealer that is also having problems paying their bills now too. I don't want to air dirty laundry here, but bad or good, we will all suffer if these dealers continue to close.

Arctic cat dealer in Fort McMurray dropped the line a few years back, 2009 model year was the last he carried I believe. Shop continued on with BRP lineup. Yamaha and Pol dealers here merged this past season as well.

Honda quad lineup was drop from a different shop as well.

Whats common between Honda and Arctic Cat? Both are carried by a dealer in Lac La Biche who doesn't gouge the ch!t of out you so local cat and honda dealers refused to compete and instead they droped the lines.

Hard to compete with LLB's prices when you have more then one brand on the same floor.
Customer X asks "why is the M8 2G cheaper then the 800xp?"
Salesman answers "well the M8 has to compete with LLB pricing while we can still gouge you with the XP"

I'm actually feeling OK with the pricing - the 154 X I snow checked is less than I paid for my 07 XRS
Not OK with Marv in Olds losing the Doo dealership though.
Yah it sucks man no more skidoo dealer in my hometown here. one of the huge advantages for me riding skidoo was being a half block away from a good dealership and parts in stock and now currently they are not carrying a line of sleds. Seems like this has affected more then myself out of our old doo clan I ride with every season. All I can do is hope Polaris jumps on brp's poor decision and marv gets sleds back in. I hope they realize what a stupid move they made Screwing over a small town dealer. Really ticks me off hence why I have no brand loyaltys.

Agree 100%. Bypassed Red Deer for good service and good people to deal with. Avoiding the Turple Tax easily payed for my fuel to drive to Olds. If Marv jumps on Poo, I may have to switch color in the next few years also.

Parts were never a problem when his guys would just throw them on the bus for me. Good luck getting Turple's to do that for you.

Know of many that were driving up from Cowtown to deal with him also.

One big problem with the new XM is it still isn't a cat. No matter what you do you'll never remove all the doo from a ski-doo

This should be interesting :D
