I agree. I think I am going to port mine similar to the old attack 20 that I had on my rev. Worked awesome with the minimal amount that was done. Less is more IMO.

Brp tested a ported flex edge on their prototype xm , and if I remember right BRP did not go with the ported track because it didn't perform as well as the non ported.
The pics of a ported track is on page 108 of the accs book.

Fired up my XM in the garage Friday to load into the trailer, idled for 30 seconds before smoke started pouring from the console. Shut it down to inspect. Brake cable was so hot I could barely touch it and the plastic sheath had melted. Took it to the dealer (again) and they figured the starter switch was grounding thru my bars and thru brake cable to the frame. Swapped out the switch and seems GTG. Apparently it was a recall.

I could see it if they ported like they did the Challenger with huge oval holes. Epic fail on that one. My attack track just had 1" holes. 2 behind each middle paddle. Worked well I found.

Nope they had the ports in the center of the track only, not ported like the old track at all. If you have a 2013 accs book look on page 108 like I mentioned earlier you'll see what I mean.

Any one else have problems with their throttle sticking freezing. My boss and i both had this happen to us, temp being around -15 c. mine hung up around 3500 while my boss hung up closer to WFO going to talk to dealer tomorrow.

Got one 600 with a sticky throttle. Also have 2 600 where the recoil wouldn't catch after about 30KM. OK now, known problem with skidoo recoils.

I think my thumbwarmer stopped working. It worked the first few rides, but seems like the last 5 days or so of riding I don't feel any heat from it. Handwarmers work, though sometimes it feels like even when i have them set at a constant level (even max) they will get super hot for 5 minutes and then I don't feel them again for the next 20 minutes. I looked at the connector inside the handbars / mountain strap area, that looks fine, thumbwarmer itself looks fine. What's the best way to check? Try to stick the wires with a voltmeter? Try to check resistance of Twarmer?

Broke my mountain bar at 350 km. The old ones with the nylon strap almost never broke, i dunno why they would change to 2 cheesy little screws, but I do like the new shape. Any ideas how to modify so it doesn't break off every 350km? Other than that, sled is amazing.

They tend to overgrease those recoils from the factory, so when it gets a little cold out it they stick a bit. I pull mine apart and just lightly oil it, if anything,

A problem just appeared with mine this past weekend, the etec is supposed to start 1st pull if not 2nd every time right? Well most of the time now it takes 4+ pulls to start, and it even takes that many when it's just been sitting on flat ground, not upside down or anything. The sled runs amazing though, anyone know what this might be?

Is this a new thing? Because you do have to give it a really good tug I find to get it to start first pull.

I'm a small guy with little pipes and not real big shoulders and I had trouble starting the E-tec's with one pull on all the demo rides. Maxwell is correct about the really good tug.

I have ES on mine and it is great.

In years past with the carburated models it seemed you always needed to hold the throttle a bit open when starting a warm Doo. Now you don't with the ETEC. Are you holding the throttle open?
