Took my Can-Am into a DOO dealer South of Alberta Beach but North of Rocky mountain House :d for some warranty work...Quad was there for two days ends up they told me BRP rejected the claim and would not cover the issue on warranty so I told them I would pay the labor that had accumulated thus far and buy all the parts needed from them to do the job myself ($1100.00). Took my quad home and replaced broken engine parts and such but was short one seal and needed my valve lashing checked at the same time so I loaded my quad and went into Turples in Red Deer and picked up the seal and had them do the valve adjustment. While I was there they told me that they would cover the seal on warranty and that the whole repair should of been covered by BRP and they also told me, after they had spoke to BRP, that there was never a claim reported for my quad in the first place from this so called Dealership.. CROOKED!! I should of had a second opinion or took it to a more reputable dealer but I use my quad for work and needed it back on the trails ASAP.. This post is not open for discussion with me...just use the information given as you may.

PS Bucklake Bob was my favorite dealer till he sold his Doo line :(

Hmmm, how to do this. December 21 smacked up my buddies summit, broke the inner bolt on the bottom A-arm which drifted everything backwards (caught the edge of a culvert) yes my pride was hurt more than his sled. Took the sled to a doo dealer on the west side of edmonton (thinking bigger would be better right?) well paid $240.00 for an estimate and the estimate came in at $7100.00, after I coughed up a lung and waited for my testicles to lower themselves down we went to get the sled back.

Took the sled to a specialty shop just off of the yellow head down the street from Raven Truck Accessories the boys in the shop looked at the sled and laughed when we told them what the estimate from the other shop was, they said it wouldn't cost more than 3.5k... That's 50% lower??????????

Go figure, tunnel wasn't bent but yet it was in the first quote along with just about everything...... Why did I pay for an estimate when all they did was quote nothing but new parts and parts that were not damaged?

I'll tell ya, the doo dealer on the west side just lost two customers......

lol i dont own the place in cochrane no. and i work for BowCycle South thats where the WE came from:rolleyes:

OK, I'll cut you some slack on the fuel line. :D Yes parts girl told me the same thing when I went in there (that only 2 ppl have ever asked for it), but she didn't say that supplier was out, just that you didn't have it in stock because no one ever asks for it. I can't believe that no one changes fuel line. I change mine annually.

You did have main jets when I called yesterday, so far so good, just need to find out if you have spark plugs and belts next..... :D

I almost hate to tell you guys, cause he's always busy as it is, but I have had great success with Trevor @ Mac's Machine in Sicamous. Knowledgable guy, for sure.

I have dealt with MR R's for the last ten years and they were great. The new location and owners in Lethbridge had a late start to the season but sales and service are lookin good. Does any other doo dealer offer discounts on parts?..........Not Turple Bros. I went to Turple last year to purchase a part and they wanted more than it was advertised in the catalogue. wtf :nono:

Told by West Edmonton Ski-doo dealer (118 ave & 177-ish st) that my head on my 670 was toast and needed to be replaced, just so happens BRP has ONE left in the warehouse for $620, and that will probably be the last as they will not be making them anymore.... kinda scared me a little but I held off.
Got opinions from brother in-law, buddy who builds these things and other S&M members who say my head is fine, clean it up and bolt it on.... I was told by the dealership in order to re-use it I would have to have it machined and shaved......
I understand they would like to sell me the part, but why is the popular opinion of "guys who know" so extremely differen't from that of 3 of BRP's tec's???????
I trust the guys I talked to which can only lead me to assume I can't trust the opinions of the tec's......

Wow tell us how you really feel...lol.What an informative post.

Who are the "service guys down there"...Down where?

Who is driving 4 hrs out of Edmonton to save a couple Hund? There are lots of dealers within an hr of edmonton.

If you think payin a few hundred more to shop in edmonton for a sled is no big deal then next time I'm picking one up you can pay the difference...lol

Very good post...I got a lot out of it...Everyone who doesn't buy where you do is a clown or maybe a Hillbilly...lol. Happy sledding and welcome to the site.

Pretty much anyone that drives 4 hours and wastes 200 bucks in fuel to save 200 bucks on a sled is a clown. Beat it.

Come back and chat with us when you blow your first belt from a problem caused by BRP's lack of motor alignment skills. Then when BRP wants to charge you $200 to align the motor and $200 for a new belt that comes from the same factory as the $50 belts, don't btich about it.

Seriously. Don't b!tch about it. Because I think there will be a lot of people on here calling you a hillbilly or a goof or a clown or a fool.

but hey - thanks for coming out.

I agree. Saved $1100 in Westlock (Civic Powersports). Cheaper than anywhere else I could find. The guys there have been great. So 45mins north and I guess I should buy a red nose as well. Does anyone know if we can get a deal on red noses in the city or do we have to travel some place else.

Get a bucket for the sand fallin out of your vag. Its sledding it costs money. deal with it or try cross country skiing. If you buy your sled somewhere like that take it there when it breaks. Drive all the way back there everytime you have a problem... sick of hearing about people on here that buy stuff so far away to ssave some bean then come on here and freak about someone not treating them good a dealership they sit here and bash all day... but when it comes down to it... who are you coming running too with the "ooohh guys I need my seld fixed before the weekend because i have to go to the mountains"......"but I didnt buy it here.... But give me a good deal anyways..... and give me cheap parts......I dont have the time to take my sled way down there to get it fixed and then come back then drive back there and get it then drive back before I go to the mountians." If you want to go buy your sled somewhere else fine.... But stop sitting here bashing everyone you geeks becuase you all know you come to other dealers when you need favors!

I don't hear anyone asking for favours, just fair pricing on parts. How much does BRP charge you for spark plugs? Ever price them out anywhere else? Why are NGK plugs $20 at the dealer and $5 at Napa? Same plugs, not even gapped correctly for BRP. Jeesh you'd think at 150% mark up that they could gap the darn thing for ya......

Why does a piston for my Cat cost 1/2 as much as the one for my Doo?

Guess you never questioned why your sled costs about 30% less in the states than it did in Canada? Might want to look that up.

Like I said, when you have to replace a belt, don't come crying. You can spend all the money you want at your local dealer. Pay full price for everything. I don't see anyone here trying to stop you.

I guess its a personal choice about what you'd rather have - a red nose from being a clown.......or a red @$$hole from being screwed.
