I'd like, similar to one of my other forums, some form of notification when a thread I've participated in has a new reply. Maybe this is already possible within an option somewhere?

For example in Spiceworks, if I participate in a thread I will get an email letting me know that someone has said something new on that particular thread. Here I am always watching the "new posts" but if a weekend or holiday goes by I can miss things that may have been responded to, two or three days prior....

(maybe I'm doing it wrong)

You can subscribe to the thread

a lot of forums are using the XenForo software, it has the option for users to "tag" another member (or multiple) in a thread, it pops up in their notifications or sends an email if they choose that setting. kind of a cool feature

advrider.com is one that uses it. I like it, not sure if it's an option but thought I'd throw it out there.

Ron and I were talking about this one tonight. The cost to transition is out of the question right now. The US dollar is killing us. I am going to try to do more research into it for future revisions of the site. Hopefully once our dollar recovers and we have more advertisers we'll be able to jump to something more "modern"

Sorry, still too new to the site to know what's broken, or even how everything works, such as subscribing to a thread, but wouldn't be opposed to the idea of contributing a few bucks to help offset the cost of updating the hardware and software on your end. Probably wouldn't get everyone on board with this, but you pretty quickly get an idea of the regular users and if all of those would chip in an equal share it likely wouldn't be too bad.

Just sayin' ... what do others think of this?

Red rep button would be nice. Also why do you have to spread more rep around before giving it back to someone who recently received it?

Right on Travis. You beat me to it.

I have been saying this for years! If a person is worthy of reputation for two posts in a row, so be it. Some days some dudes are pretty sharp and come up with some pretty humorous posts that should be rep worthy whether or not they just received some for a previous post.

I would be in favor of a type of donation to help out. A small fee of $10 per year. This would give you special privileges, such as a team section. Maybe a designation in your info that your a site supporter or team member. I personally have learned a lot about riding places and such from this site. Less than the cost of a map.....priceless.
More support for phone/tablet users as more than 50% of users are mobile I would venture to say.
