Nah, big cut in side wall so rimed it out of meadow Mnt. Tire was Finnish any how…then after a few pops I said I bet i can chop through that tire with my fisker axe. Ha ha I won, not much to that big horn. Surprised it cut right through with one swing.

The best way to curb these closures is through organized and registered clubs. Then when there is any proposed change to tenure use or size within an area a club is operating consultation is required and ministry cannot arbitrarily close the area without cause.

Tina is a pain In Our ass down here. she continues to head her own crusade. someone will mob a small hoe in and undo that work. I’ll find out which contractor is doing the work. She tried this crap in 9 mile (alpine) and I stirred the pot enough so now we have access again.
she was in there 2 yrs ago with her roll of ribbon, I’ll also ask our DM in Kootaney lake office.

You should see what they did to the access to crusader flats. The govt said they would let the club know of any work. Not so much until we saw the aftermath.

What went on in crusader?

They took out the 2 larger (never plugging) culverts. The contractor tried to make it passable by placing large rocks to anchor the banks and flatter ones for a run in/out. The problem is, is that it was too steep of a decent to the creek to cross. Over the run off, the rocks have shifted and made the crossing a royal bitch. The rest of the way to the flats got the "huge cross ditch treatment."

This yr at some point they took an excavator from springer creek to just below crusader cabin and ditched and did some brushing. That on the other hand was well done. There is still a ton of flagging around lemon creek crusader indicting they have a lot more to do.

They have full on rebuilt some grown over goat trails just to drive a truck in to say it needs to be deactivated. How nice would it be if there was a little communication with the rec side of things and use the deact money for something good.

I hear you on this, there is very low level discussion about the deactivation going on. I know of the 3 people that are a big part in this, I get calls as a contractor to help deactivate but once I’ve had my discussion with them they really don’t call me anymore lol.
I am being very vocal with bcts and there agenda, falls on deaf ears it feels like. I’ll just keep being a pain in there a$$ for as long as possible
we had some equipment in that lemon creek area and opened up monument but never was up that far. If we are I’ll fill in the problem areas so if gives better access.
