was in there before Christmas, looked like we were the first tracks in. Fought creeks, willows and rocks all day. It had a serious lack of snow, but we still managed to get everywhere!

Was nice on Saturday. None of the avy chutes have slid however so tread carefully. Saw a small slide, 1-2ft slab rider triggered by another crew.

really doesn't matter what exposure around here at this time of the season. nothing has come down is the main point, nothing natural. There is a very evident layer approx. 30-45cm down that is extremely weak. given the current forecast it will build up this week more and when the next warm or sun day cycle hits the slopes, it will all come down.

slope that broke was east facing, and wind loaded I suspect. small, something you would see on the slope of a FSR.

Of the two riders that set off the slide one was not wearing a back pack, not sure if he had a beacon on, but did have a tunnel bag with a shovel attached to it. Not the type of terrain to be in un-prepared. Personally I think they were chasing tracks even though they told Rowdy they knew the area. They waited at the waterfall for our group to go up, they waited at 100 hp hill for our group to go up, they waited at the meadow for our group to go up, then they followed us around most of the afternoon. Granted we had some good looking riders with us, and not talking but myself, Oler1234 or JMCX, but if you know the area, find your own playground, not where there is already 8 or 9 sleds buzzing around.

She is a good rider and she had parts to get my XM running again. Good with helping the newbs too on safety.

I might have to meet this lady! Spare parts and a good rider that's the whole package right there. Back to topic tho. Where is best spot to stage with heading into the mines. Buddy wants to take the four place but I'm thinking that's foolish eh

I like how you assume just because the one guy didn't have an avy pack on, he must not of had a beacon on as well. When in fact he did. Also how we waited for your group at every feature because we must not have known where to go. It was the first ride of the season for myself, and we had lots of daylight and fuel to burn so whats the hurry. Plus the fact that once you're ahead of us at the waterfall, the only way in is to follow your tracks, and we wanted to play around on the way in. Being that the weather was a bit socked in up in the Alpine areas forced us to stay in the few treed areas available. I guess i apologize for the one time we were playing in the same spot as you for those 10 minutes, the plan earlier on in the day was to go back to Snowman lake but sometimes plans change. Next time we see your group of sleds out we will be sure to stay as far away as possible.

I said I didn't know if he had a beacon on, never assumed he didn't, I assumed in fact he would have one. Pretty silly to be in that terrain without one. You came through the valley just as we did. Notice that none of the slides have come down yet? If one come down and your partner's sled get buried, he can't dig you out because his probe and shovel are on his sled. I made lots of poor choices in my time too before somebody made me aware of better options. Your partner must not have been involved in an avalanche where his sled gets away from him and has to help dig somebody out. Sorry you take offence to my comments. You are more than welcome to join our group anytime. To each his own but if there is a group parked having lunch and the area around them is untouched, I am just gonna find another place to play. That was just the edicate I was shown when I first started. Again, sorry to offend you. Cheers and safe riding.
