Priced out some Cooper highbay Leds for the shop, pretty pricey but lots of output.

What everyone putting in their shops?

40'x50'x18'

Update! So we now have some issues with the Cooper fixtures!

Spec sheet rates the fixtures at 24000 lumens,

But the DLC listing only recognizes them for 19000 lumens output.


So instead of the expected $200 each rebate, they will only qualify for $140 rebate.


Pre check the DLC listings before you purchase anything! Bullshat false advertising has some expected rebate money up in smoke!

We have used 24000 lumen visioneering fixtures. The dlc listing on them was over 25000 lumens. They were actually a bit cheaper and I was getting a price match on the coopers to be equivalent. We were only buying Cooper because they where in stock at a different wholesale vs waiting for them.

No more coopers for us at the moment. Waiting for a reply from Cooper and our supplier.

But as I said before, as a business that is selling and installing these we need to purchase these fixtures from a source that we know will still be around in 5 Years for warranty purposes. Most manufactures don’t cover our expenses of time and man lifts to warranty the fixtures, and our customer relationships are very important to us and we make things right for our customers. Warranty of a dud fixture is already done at a loss and we cannot afford to eat the price of these expensive fixtures as well.


We have learned the hard way a few times that the import fixtures, or small fry store front LED shops don’t work out for our business. They may work out fine on a personal level where you have limited number of fixtures and it’s only your personal time and the cost of a fixture to deal with duds.



If there was not a massive rebate program to make prices equivalent, and everyone having an LED dinger in there pants, I would be using 6 lamp T5 fluorescents!

I have a curved city pole with 2 1500w halogens I would love to replace.

Whats a direct replacement for this style of light?

I had some truck lights built that came out of the same factory that night rider comes from. I got them at half the cost and a better mounting bracket delivered to my door

I’d look for a 300 watt with a slip fit mount.

$500 would be a good price before the $300 rebate.





Or prob a tonne of no name stuff that may or may not be DLC listed.

I’ve tried 120 watt version of them as a replacement for 400 watt metal halides. Bulb was good and bright but we had a few fail. Not good for dusty environments as they have a cooling fan build into the base and it seizes up.


They were still pretty expensive at the time, and I got screwed on warranty from a shady small importer.


Now I buy fixtures from a reputable distributed.

Awesome thx, I called priemer led today and the said industrial lighting in Edmonton is their distributer in Edmonton.

And standard didn't bother answering the phone, they are based in Vancouver so they are probably busy at a pipeline protest or something.

Well, approx 30 percent brighter than the others at the same watts?

Is it “elite” brand fixtures or some guys business called elite lighting?


We have used lots of “elite” brand pot lights purchased through bartle Gibson, or gescan. They have been a quality product at a good price.


I would try them if i know I can drop them back on their counter in a couple years if they fail for a $700 credit. Or I might look at the rebate numbers vs fixture cost and do more quantity of a smaller fixture?

He says they are dlc rated, but the specs are what I am starting to question.
