Cheaped out and went with T8 2 bulb 4 footers in my 21x25 garage with 10' ceiling. Put in 5 fixtures with daylight led bulbs. Works out to ~75 lumens/sqft and it is very adequate as some say you should aim for 100 lumens/sqft but I think any more than that you'll be wearing sunglasses. Only need work lights if I'm way into something. As Eclipse said I wish I had added some side lighting to account for having the garage door open and it covering 2 fixtures.

Anyone get any of their carbon tax dollars back out of the NDP through this program?

I have hear stories of guys getting $200/fixture back.....

Any truth in this?

Yea it’s true.

We have been using lots of the 24000 lumen models.

It usually made the best value for fixture costs and rebate back of $200 each.

Brought the cost of the LED down to be almost equivalent to a 6 lamp T5.

But then better energy savings and more light. 6 lamp t5 is about 17000 lumens.

The paperwork for the rebate is brutal.

Priced out some Cooper highbay Leds for the shop, pretty pricey but lots of output.

What everyone putting in their shops?

40'x50'x18'

I do that **** daily

Probably good with 6 24000 lumen fixtures.

Would be bright.

you talking these units?

my existin lights are wired with bx I wonder whats the proper way to wire these in...........

Mine are like that black one. Very low profile and throw a ton of light. In my poll barn I took out 4 florescent and put in a single 200w 60,000 lum. Like friggin day light in there now.

18ft roof. What are your other dimensions? I have a pretty good contact for them. Actually I think I still have some left over from a bulk sample I ordered direct from manufacturer.

Where did you find 60000 lumens rating?

FYI. Fixtures need to be DLC listed to qualify for the rebate.

Had them built.

Mine are on the scale closest to white I think...... most resemblance to day light anyway. Nothing worse then yellow light imo

That’s 6000 k. = colour.

60,000 Lumen is light output. Or brightness.

Probably need to be a 480 watt LED to get 60000 lumens.

200watt I'm sure.

Don't remember 480 being mentioned anywhere

Visioneering makes a 60k lm.

Ya they are made. But they use more than 200 watts to that many lumens.

That fixture will be $$$$.

The 36000 lumen version was over 500$ when I had it priced.

We found using the 24000 model was a better option while the rebate is offered. Best fixture cost to rebate return value. Just add more fixtures to get the same amount of light on the ground.

Ya I was just asking because that UFO add doesn’t mention Lumens. Just watts.

The 6000 k is the colour in degrees kelvin. Different subject the lumens

But getting 60000 lumens from 200 watts of power used would be hell of a fixture!

I’ve been stung a couple times with the import LED fixtures. So for me i need to purchase from a source that will still be around in 5 Years for warranty purposes.

EECOL Electric from Saskatoon. Not cheap, got them through one of my brothers construction company, so I may have gotten a deal ???? Or not.
This is our old steel quonset converted into a commercial inspection facility
T5 bulbs 3 rows of 4 a piece. It's almost too much. Buildings 50 x 80 and lights are 17 feet off the ground it does the trick.
