LETHBRIDGE - The push-back from Off Highway Vehicle groups, seems to have worked.

2) A public consultation process for southwestern Alberta - details to be worked out- beginning March 8th.
3) All trails in the Castle Parks will remain open to OHV users this year. Within 1yr. all illegal trails will be closed, but all legal trails will remain open and accessible to OHV users.
4) Improving clarity for ranchers' grazing permits.
5) Improving fish recovery strategies for threatened species.

What constitutes an illegal trail? Is an illegal trail simply a trail without an official steward or are we talking about any trail that the government may arbitrarily declare illegal?

Also, I have yet to ride as far South as Castle but have been near by (Dutch Creek along hwy 40). Am I correct in assuming the trails in Castle would be very similar?

Interesting a group claims to be the majority or outdoor enthusiasts now forms.

Another angle funded by who?

Its not over yet Ray. We need to continue to bring awareness to the problems out there and work on solutions. Some of us seen this coming and now we all need to do something about it. Like your trail cleaning idea and maybe its time for a Snow and Mud club with 45,000 new members.

I agree it's a start of a long road.

Trail repair Thread brings awareness

Educating rides on cleaning, picking up trash or items that don't belong in the area are all small steps.

Long term is to have sustainable trails that can be used for generations

Hopefully the Castle situation will wake people up.
