so i have a problem.....'
I went to martin and bought some scratchers from them.... i got to put them on following the instructions to a t. I droll holes in my rails rite where it says to, and go to compress my suspension and the springs in the suspension hit the scratchers!!!!!!!!!!!... U gotta be kidding me rite?

So now im wondering who pays for the new set of rails? as im quite pissed i have two unnecessary holes in them? Or am i **** out of luck and it comes from my pocket?

You seem to be new to sledding. I have attached some information below so you can get a better idea what to expect. I think this scenario falls under bullet #1.

1. Go to your local sled shop, smile and give $200 to the first guy you see. This will get you used to doing this all season.
2. Remove the muffler from your lawnmower place the mower in a large metal can and start it up, put your head in the can and close the lid.
3. Fill a 50 gall. drum with sand and place it in a hole. Now lift it out. If you can, add water to the sand, do this 5 times per day. This will help prepare for deep snow stucks.
4. Tie a rope to a heavy duty spring pull the rope repeatedly with both hands until the pain in your shoulder meets somewhere in the middle of your back. Do this excercise while someone is spraying starting fluid in your nose and eyes.
5. Drink 4 ounces of cod liver oil mixed with a strong laxitive. Dress with long underwear, wool pants, snowmobile bibs insulated boots and a heavy coat. Now head out deep into the woods without any paper products and wait for a personal emergency.
6. Place your hands in a bucket of ice water for 20 minutes. Pull the carb off your lawnmower and place it in the deep freezer. Now climb into the freezer shut the lid and overhaul it while you hold a penlight in your mouth. Note advanced riders do this with a leatherman tool.
7. Dress up in your $350 snow bibs. Pour two stroke oil down one leg gasoline down the other, peppermint schnapps and beer down the front. Now ask your wife/girlfriend to dance. This will prepare her as well.
8. Put a balaclava and a full face helmut on. Attemp to drink hot chocolate through the opening. Advanced riders do this while riding a lawn tractor in nearest farmers field
9. Find a place where you can pay $3.50 a gallon for reg. gas $19.99 per quart of oil $16 for a hamburger and frozen fries $3.00 for a coke $60 to sleep in a cold cabin on a bed with spring sticking out. Stay 2 night minimum, this will prepare you for high cost of future trips.
10. Practice explaining to your banker why you need another loan for a $60,000 truck to pull 4 -$15,000 toys in your $19000 trailer that you still owe $50,000 on.
Now you are 50 per cent ready for the season!!!

lol funny... but seriously .... they sold me these cheap ass scratchers... the instructions say to punch a hole through the rail on a specific spot.. and then it doesnt work.... so in my mind martin should be giving me new rails... and charging the people that made the scratchers..... im most likely wrong as now days no one will take blame for their **** products, but i figured id ask.

Sorry i have no pics im at work.

Right so you bought a universal product and didn't test fit it before you installed it and now the shop that sold you the product should cough up for new rails and then go after the manufacturer? This attitude is why our culture now has to put warning labels on everything.

The scratchers I bought from Martins didn't come instructions saying to drill here. The only instruction given was to mount scratchers as far forward while making sure mounting position does not interfere with suspension. Here is one of the first of many lessons from the school of hard knocks.
1 if you have never done a given procedure or mod before ask for advise first or help from someone who has. Or pay the shop to do it for you.
In this case I would say you are SOL with getting any shop to pay for rails you drilled wrong.

The good news is you probably won't this mistake again. Bad news is there are lots of other mistakes to make, just get used to handing over cash and shaking your head. Not very often you can ride a whole season without some sort of damage and repairs to be made.

Those aren't cheap scratchers they sell, they are the ice storm the best scratchers on the market. You are SOL. And btw 2 extra holes won't effect anything. As with any universal aftermarket product measure twice drill once and always test fit. I've installed tons of those scratchers and sure it was a pain to find the correct spot

Finding out if warranty... Used them 3 times

Also they are so easy to mount, move the middle back one idler wheel ahead and mount the latch there.... In the 2 empty holes...nothing hits ect

I tried to find a spot on my xm for icestorms and could not find one that didn't interfere with the spring so I installed the bpr ones. Fernie snow did I see some that you put on your skis last year?
