This is sad.
Hopefully the Calgary Herald did a crappy job of writing but the way they wrote the article they made it sound as if only one of the three had a beacon.

The snow has been so crappy for so long my ski guiding buddies are telling me that operations are pushing their terrain choices. All the terrain they normally reserve for lean snow or crappy conditions has already been skied out. So in order to give their clients good snow they are taking higher risks. Buddies who ski guide say it very nerve racking trying to get clients good turns and still stay safe.

I am in Kimberley and it seriously has not had a significant snowfall (+2 cm's) for 6 weeks.

RIP to the skier.

Seems like bad wording for sure. RK does some training before their trips and makes sure everyone is equipped from my understanding.

RIP.

so close to the end of the season, and yet any new big snow accumulations will be sketchy on hard sun burnt snow.

jumbo creek area has been getting hit with snow while most other places are not. was there on sunday and had a good 20 cms, last week there was 50cms.

rk gives each skiier a beacon and a quick lesson on how to use them.

sad for sure
