So I got my 96 xcr running and it seems to be in great condition aside from the needle and seat which will be fixed this spring. I'm currently doing g research and brainstorming to prepare for the summer and spring work that I want to do to it. One important part that I want done is to swap out the running boards for wider and grippier boards. The stock ones are much to narrow at the back to stand up while riding, not to mention that as soon as they get wet, they become a metal skating rink, with absolutely no grip.
I'm pretty sure the stock boards run coolant through them, as there is never and snow or ice on them while theaxhone is running. I'm wondering g how I can delete and bypass this part of the cooling system. Any tips on this would be appreciated. I prefer sitting, but sometimes the rough terrain in my areas makes that very difficult, also, I like to get off the trails now and then and play in what little powder we get, and that requires standing.
