In my experience on my long commute to work, generally these trucks are full of impatient drivers going to fast, pass when they shouldn't, and of couse will throw rocks all the time! Earlier this year one passed me and of course he had to 'throttle to the floor' to make noise. His driveshaft blew up just as he was beside me and all I seen was smoke and parts flying all over.

Man that would be satisfying.

The biggest issue involving lifted trucks is the fact they have this habit of driving right over the top of other vehicles they run into because they are so high. You know the cross bars you see welded onto the rear of semi trailers? They are there to prevent vehicles from driving underneath the trailer in a rear end impact.

Could you imagine what having front and rear bumpers on a mega lifted truck that are as low to the ground as a semi trailer rear bumper would look like?

Bumper heights and mud flaps laws have been in effect for many years in BC. Every year there is a field day with the small penis crowd from the cops. Same as window tint for the pot heads. I dont agree with banning a vehicle from hieght as far as the unit can pass the stopping distance tests that OEM have to pass. For example a 1/2 ton with 35 inch tires is not only going to cause a money pit in repairs, the stopping distance from what it was designed for has been compromised. Same as a 1 ton with 40's. If the package is done correctly and all components are up-graded i see no problem.

local atv rider was killed here this morning, he was good friends with the other young fella that passed away this spring and had the huge atv funeral procession. he entered a lot of atv mud bog competitions, I think he won the whitemud event this spring. rolled his lifted superduty at 6:45 this morning. RIP Skylar

Doubt the law stuck in sask, ive seen alot of 10-12 inch lift trucks with 44s in saskatoon
cant imagine why you would WANT that much lift or tire on a daily driver, i have a 5" susp & 2" body lift with 35's and thats more than i've ever needed and i wheel it often and hard, each to thier own i guess.. and please tell me the dancin girl in your sig is your sister and you have more pics for us?

My my my how fast you all are to jump on a bandwagon to get something banned. I wonder if all those people driving the lifted trucks jump on the bandwagon as fast as you guys when it comes to closing down sledding areas.

Maybe everything in the country should be banned so everyone could shut the f*ck up and quit b*tching about what everyone else is doing or has and we can all be equal.

The funny part is my truck has no lift. Not even a leveling kit. Not even in any of my five trucks. No stacks and no HID's. But i like the fact that people get to choose!

It just pisses me off when I see a bunch of whiney hypocrites that whine and cry like the worlds going to end when their sledding and quadding areas are getting closed because of a "few" heli skiers wanting a certain area, or because of sensitive wildlife that actually lives there. Just after they post a video on youtube of them destroying a cutline with their quads, aiming for the biggest hole instead of going around. Or better yet the sledding video that shows them running over mulitple trees because they can't be bothered to go around because it inconvienences them.

How dare they close down our pristine sledding/quadding areas?! Especially after all the trees we wreck, oil/gas spilled, marshes ripped up, hills rutted up, etc. How dare they even think to do that to us! But wait! What's that guy over there doing? You know who. The guy that has something we don't like/agree with. Let's shut him down!!! How dare he think to do that without asking you first?! Anything you guys don't like you sure do your part to shut them down, but cry when they do it back to you.

It does tick me off when i see people whining and crying begging for more and more laws that take away a persons freedom or ability to make a choice for themselves. You all keep begging for more and more laws until one day you'll realize that you don't like how things are with all these new laws and it'll be too late. You'll be just another sheep that gets told what to do, and what you can or can't do.

And if you think i'm wrong, take a look at how much riding areas we've lost over the last 10 years and how much we've gained. Let me know which is more.

Good point,

where does it stop, people are driving high end sports cars 200+km/hr on back roads=ban them, 9 quad deaths= ban them, quads are number one killers of children= ban them, dirt bikes 2 strokes smoke too muck= ban them, campers are leaving garbage everywhere= ban free ranging. Ban, ban ban....... Be responsible act responsible then nothing more needs to be ban. We are quickly becoming a nanny state, so we will have to be bubble wrapped to leave our houses, only if the wrap is CSA approved...how about a little education and reasonable limits.
You know we should ban rock and roll cause music leads to dancing which leads to touching :nono: I know allot of people who have spent their entire lives for a word.....freedom....don't spend it too easily or give it up too easily..it is very expensive.

I don't see a problem with the way things are right now...do bad things happen...yes...drinking and driving is on the rise, we are loosing the war on drugs (that stuff is getting nasty, eating people faces what the he ll )

ok I'm ranting now  next

This thread has been good for a laugh. I hit my hand weird on my center console this morning and it went numb, I think we should ban center consoles. I got my hands wet while doing the dishes, let's ban dishes and water.

True, if a small car gets hit by a lifted truck it's probably not going to end well. Would it really matter if the truck is lifted or not? If you are scared of getting hit in a small car, don't drive an econo-shitbox. Even the mudflap argument, I have had 2 rock chips this year and neither of them were from a lifted truck? Not saying lifted trucks aren't bad for it... If you banned lifted trucks you would have to ban all semi's and anything over a 1 ton truck. I love the alberta stereotypes, while true, who gives a ch!t what people do with their vehicles? We could piss and moan about how the tree huggers from BC drive around in their VW buses rolling more "coal" than my diesel does, but I personally have better ch!t to do.
