I know how to work hard, in the 5 years i've been doing it, no one can do my job. Most of the time it takes two people to do it, and still not as fast. I know what it's like to work for 18 hours strait. Yes I won't put up with it. I have heard of bosses throwing things at people, etc, I wouldn't put up with it or constant verbal abuse, I have no problem stepping in and telling a boss to cool it. I would rather sit at home for months on end not working then put up with it. If it's dished out to me I give it right back, or if it's bad enough I will just walk away, I have threatened it before. Will not put up with a work environment like that. Absolutely NO reason for it.

With all due respect, 18 hrs on the job ain't that bad. Many yrs ago, a "standard" day was 12-14 hrs, now people gripe if they have to work a full 8. People think today that something like 18 hrs is a miracle, no, actually it was pretty common place to work long hours like that many years ago. Even farmers today put in at least a month worth of 18 hr days at harvest, many of them do this more than once a year.

A boss that is demanding and asking someone to do their job the way their predecessor did it, is not asking too much IMO. Your post above re: old farts and them wanting someone younger to more physical labour is incorrect the way I see it (just my opinion though). The old guys DO have the right to push hard labour onto the younger guys because the "old guys" have already been there, done that for many many many many years. Most of the younger generations now think they should just be able to come in first day on the job, sit down and do the same work for the same pay as the guy who's been there for 30 yrs. We call it "putting your time in". What the younger crowd is feeling is entitlement. Doesn't happen where I work. You put your time in and show that you are worthy of the paycheck, otherwise someone else can do your job. If it means taking your lumps from a bad boss, well... if you work hard you can be the boss one day and treat people differently.

I've done 16 hrs a day for weeks, and know lots of other guys that do, its nothing special, it's just another day in paradise. :D

The guys in the restaurant probably would have piped down if asked politely. A confrontational attitude usually starts things off on a bad note. I've been in this situation before (actually just yesterday at the bottle depot) and usually a comment along the lines of "hey guys, sorry to interrupt, we're just wondering if you could dial down the exploits of last night and not drop the F-bomb, just for sake of the little one's ears." Most times guys are not that dis-respectful and do not even realize their behaviour is affecting the general population. If you get a bad response no matter how nice you ask, then...well I'm not going to say anymore. :D

Growing up in Golden and working too many years in restaurants and bars growing up, I served more sledders than you can imagine! I had a very tainted image of sledders based on this as I didn't ride then. I can say that most people remember guys like this and it always seemed that there were far more of them then the respectful ones.

It wasn't until I started riding again a few years ago that my eyes opened to a whole other breed of snowmobilers. Ones that DO respect others, the environment and their rides! They were always there, but they are not the ones you remember! The rudeness, sexual advances, my chit don't stink attitude is most prominent in my mind. I've always been ok speaking my mind and many times would ask groups to quiet down, usually resulting in more harassing and less tip for me! It seems some don't get out enough and like to forget who they are and even that they are married when they do!

I must say that I tend to be guilty of a bit of a 'trucker mouth' at times  and especially after a drink or two and when in certain company...but I check it at the door and even though we don't have kids, I would never expose someone else's family to my outspoken banter!

ps...it's cool to do 40 year olds at any age :D and judging someone by the year or condition of their ride or the modesty in which they live is behaviour only the over-privledged would display.

Alot of interesting points of view and opinions here on this matter. Confronting these clowns is the managers job..after all it's his/hers place of business. Two verbal warnings then call the RCMP and let them deal with it. These guys have no respect for you in the resturant so what do ya think might happen in the parking lot or down the road for that matter. Society today no matter what age bracket it seems has gone the wayside. Every second word is f this and f that. Goes to show the mentallity of some people.

Thanks, you nailed it. I guess some on here missed the point when suggesting the OP should have done something. Guess they didn't notice it was a women. These guys were asked to cool it (twice) and only got worse. I was there and they were not looking to cooperate... only for confrontation.
When we left the manager was getting ready to call the cops. You had to be there to believe what a piece of work these guys are. Nothing to do with there age. These were not kids, they were in their 30's old enough to behave like a men but instead they choose to be a waste of skin.

Alright, that's better info....at first it was not stated. Just saying if we recognize them to tell them to grow up. If I knew who they were I am sure I would be just as much a low life, and probably joke about all the whining. That is how pieces of chit like that act. It is really to bad there wasn't another 5 of us respectful dudes around to show these guys how to act in public.

What is this Baacas Racing?

I have not posted any comments to this but here is my :twocents:

We make ourselfs easy targets, sleds, quads, big truck, etc.
We act up make ruts, cut down trees, swear in public, leave garbage.

People get angry at us and don't want us out on sleds or quads.

That being said if we all used respect to the general public and each other then maybe people might say. "Those sledders and quadders are nice people"

How often do we hear that...

There is no excuse for talking foul in front of women and kids in a public place..If this is the kind of talk that you use at home in front of your kids that is fine with me but the kids in the restraunt were not their's they were someone elses. Grow up and show some respect...I'm an oil patch guy myself (almost 20yrs) and can talk as foul as anyone on here if not worse but I know when and where this is acceptable...Keep the trash talk to the parking lot...LOSERS

I agree. Too often now it seems people have to put up with nonsense because everyone feels that they must be heard as it is their right; noise is like smoke, it's hard to confine. Ive spent 28 years in the patch and I can spit it out too, but knuckle heads you gotta cork it in public.

Prime example of removing your decals if you sell a piece of equipment, don't what your name associated with a loser if it doesn't belong to you.
