So I got a set of new rollers and the service manual says nothing about pulling the e-clip first, but the note with the rollers says you must, I have been working on building a tool but it is getting thin, Any ideas how to pull the clip?

I found the easiest way was to smash the rollers with a chisel and then pull the e-clip after the roller is out of the way. Much easier than messing with building a tool. That's how I did it when I put in my Hi-Torque rollers. It was super easy that way.

At least you know there's one in there, the first time I went to pull the bolt I had no idea about the clip and started removing the bolt which was tight so I thought it was tight or alot of loctite, well I got it out and buggered the bolt and the clip, so went to the dealer to replace the bolt and clip...................$45............................

People have made tools out of flattened nails or very thin screwdrivers with a bit of a hook filed in to the tip. I had broken rollers so I just busted them right off to get at the clip. When I re-assembled I bought new bolts and used the new clips that came with my high torque rollers. The new bolts have a new part# so I just wanted to make sure I got the newest updated bolts that is supposed to avoid the problem of the bolt heads popping off and causing major carnage to the clutches.

I took a mini screwdriver and did some work to it, it is little and just can't seem to get it. What year did they have bolt troubles?

spend a few bucks on the snap on tool truck and purchase the 4 piece pic set. the quality is the best and they wont let you down. they slip in behind nice and the little hook clips in and slides the "c" clip out nice and easy. works awesome for me. cheers.

Had a little trouble making a tool - made one out an old o-ring pick. flattened the end and bent 90 degrees. Turn the retaining bolt out just a little to get the most space between the roller and clutch housing> just enough room to get tool in. Installed high torque rollers - came with a new c-clip

I sharpened up a wood chisel, worked like magic. Might have to check the snap on truck, nice to pull them if a guy had to.
