Glad to hear you had a good experience up there....we cant say the same down here....had too many bad experiences in the ER here to count and now we go out of town to ER's....ugh

All of the bad experiences were with kids involved too....not cool...

Unsure as to who NP is talking about as I cant see anywhere in previous posts that she was singled out....I am certain there is way more than one nurse working at any given ER in the province of Alberta as well as the DR's, Respitory, labratory, xray etc...nope no singling out here...

The wait times suck at most places but I find if you can make the drive the smaller ERs havent got the masses waiting and can be more personable......just saying....

Wait times remain the same all over the province ,UNBEARABLE .....As for the debate of how to change that , it is unsolveable !! Your correct JC you didn't single me out ...You singled out the ER I work in , we all do a good job , to the best our our abilities , and I believe MANY would argue the care is better and more personable in a smaller (rural ER )
We all do our best everyday under terrible conditions and expectations , you of all people should know that , No matter how good we all try to do our jobs , people will continue to criticize , for WHATEVER the reason my be , I'll leave that to you .......As for the ER I work in we are all professionals and it's unfair to lay out blanket comments. In no way do the patients I care for leave with the feeling they were just another # , I enjoy my job and I am good at it.

I've posted this story already and will make it short.

Shattered both wrists on July 27, went to UofAH ER...unbelievable response to my situation. Admin, nurses, docs, xray techs, ortho surgeon, cast room tech etc...ALL AWESOME......no wait time if you are in real trouble.

I've been on both sides and I believe that 'bad' experiences have more to do with individuals and not the masses. I've worked alongside some wonderful, and some not-so-wonderful people, and having been on the 'injured' side also...it's the health care staff that go 'above-and-beyond' that make a positive experiences for the patients, despite limitations of budgets, waits, equipment, etc.:twocents:
But back to the thread...glad to hear you're on the mend Quadtrash (it wasn't your drinking arm was it?).

First of all I am unsure of how this became a debate between "you" and I....I am unsure of what makes you so hateful but moving on...

I am glad to here there are MANY people out there that have had great experiences in ERs across the country, however, playing devils advocate, there are also equivalent MANY people that have had less than great experiences.....some of course their own doing and some not...

Lastly I do believe there is far too much critizism in our world today in ALL professions not just health care.....I do also believe we as a human race need to do more praising of eachother and of ALL professions as it does take ALL to make everything tick right!!!

So here is to all you Professionals out there....no matter what, you all do a great job and you all deserve much praise....:beer:

But yes also glad to here Trashy had a great experience.....
