As I understand it, (and I'll let more knowledgeable folks correct me) superchargers do not just bolt onto two strokes the way they do fourstrokes. Two strokes rely on back pressure in the pipe to keep fuel/air mixture from running straight through it. Turbos naturally add extra back pressure, but superchargers are liable to push fuel/air straight through while the exhaust port is open.

At any rate, there are technical reasons why superchargers aren't all over the market like turbochargers are (in the two stroke world) and if RIP charger has figured these problems out, I look forward to learning how they did it.

RipCharger like it was said before sounds like a mid season release late Jan-Feb on the units with 20 RipChargers going on sleds right now for early season riding Test & Tune just to work any last minute bugs out. Pricing in the air, sounds to be around the 4K mark with exhaust full kit & 3K without exhaust kit an approximate install time of 2 - 2-1/2 Hrs. Apparently they will not be at the Calgary Show this weekend. Not much to go on but you may see the odd one ripping around Revy soon.

I have been a witness to what the boys at Powder Lites can do and have done in the past. Dave and his crew have an amazing amount of experience in boosting sleds and in some other applications that very few would ever know. They build top-notch stuff for the 4 stroke industry and I have no doubt they will be marketing a winner with the Rip Charger system in the 2 stroke world. A good friend and riding buddy was fortunate to be able to get one of these babies for his M8 and will be rippin in Sicamous/Revy around mid Dec. Stay tuned, good, bad or otherwise.

This is something I will be very interested in hearing how it turns out. May have to try one of these for next season if they get them dialed with out any issues.

A lightweight, no lag unit would be sweet.
I would like to try one in a low boost application, so it can be run on just say a 30% C16 to 70% pump gas mix, and not be so hard on reeds and such.
Big boost turbo units are okay in wide open places, but not fun boondocking, or technical climbs.
I would glad trade a no lag 6psi, lightweight supercharger, for my 12 psi turbo, which has a little lag, and adds a lot of weight, and can some days be a tuning nightmare.
Costs less to buy and operate it sounds like as well.

Here is an example from yesterdays test ride of a friend who has a kit on his XP. He did a few flat runs against a couple of new e-tecs, a boosted Nytro running 14psi. He smoked them all. He is only running 6psi of boost. Be nice to have some pics of this.
