Does anyone know if castle mountain near pincher creek will allow you to sled on their ski hill weeks before their opening?

you can sled right beside the hill though, stage at base and go up the valley, should be enough snow by Dec.

ya for sure...I need to explore a bit more of that country...there must be some good spots back in there for early season...I like those lakes when the snow sets up enough to get in there...on the bc side..pretty soon...

Thanks Guys, John-T, what side of the mountain can you ride right beside? When facing the hill the left side is the chutes and i have never seen a sled in there. The right side is NorthBowl (northern exposure) and have never seen one there either when skiing?

I use to ski ALOT, until i discovered sledding last year :d . I am from Lethbridge originally so i know castle ski hill pretty good and have never seen sleds parked beside the boundary ropes up high on runs accessed by red-chair. It would be cool though! Do you mean sledding is done in the valleys beside the ski hill? (Mt.Haig)

parking
when you are driving up to the hill and there is a parking lot cleared asap on your right, 30 secs down road u turn right to park at hill. stage at hill or at cleared lot.

riding,
from that staging lot take left towards hill instead of going right into ski hill parking go strait down by the trailers and keep going, it turns to a ungroomed trail (groomed rarely), after a few minutes you will see a small clearing and creek (early season) keep going, follow trail for 5 minutes or so and there is some sinage. follow the trail and it takes you in but the trail does not last long so you just explore, you can actualy get to fernie from there so goes for ever. hard to explain and I am bad with names of things,

hope this helps, I used to ski a tonne as well but not so much anymore, I will be riding there late Nov it starts to get good, shoot me a pm and I would be happy to show ya around,I have a friend in Lethbridge that alway rides there with me, there is some great riding with good snow and smaller crowds, and pretty close for you

Sounds good boys. I will drop you guys a line maybe early Dec or around Christmas time if we make our way down there. We will need a tour guide for the area it sounds like. I ride with a buddy and his girlfriend comes out too sometimes. Is it an easy ride in for her?

What do you guys like riding better: Castle or Pipeline? What are the differences in the ride areas?

both are good, Castle has some more terrrain features, some nicer pulls and some sweet drifts its a bit harder to get around but if ya know where to go its not too bad for the ladies, my girlfriend comes out on sundays as well and she gets around castle pretty good,
pipeline is good for tree bang n.

let it snow
