i have a 04 rev chassis.... i spent the money on a 07 800r set up cause i hate the xp ... had to rent one for 2 days and it sucked [ it would go straight up but nothin else ] ... allways fell like it wanted to stay flat...

well in mind if ur trail ridin it would be awsome but for a mountian sled it sucked....

if i had to buy a new one i'd buy a chitty kitty m8.... thats hard to say cause im a doo guy....

long live the rev..... xp's are like ridin a buffalo........

Im in the same boat as you, bought my 04 REV brand new and absolutely love it to death. I just recently bought an XP and i'm really having my doubt with it, as you said always wants to lay you flat. My 04 blows my buddy's XP out of the water in the hills, they can't touch me. Hopefully with seat time & set-up i can make i XP do the same. Now my wife gets to enjoy the REV while i graon riding the "buffalo"

I found it hard to find the balance/pivot points on the XP at first as well. Now that I am used to it, it rolls over so easy, but isn't tippy, like a cat. I've had no seat time in a Rev so I can't compare to that however.

if you are finding the xp hard to carve,unhook your sway bars and then move your feet back on the running boards,you can't carve them with your feet up in the stir ups ,move them half way down and these things flop over with no effort at all.

Alright...read what everyone has had to say, all very good true stuff. I have ridden both chassis for multiple years now in extreme mountain riding conditions (deep deep pow and steep steep hills). heres my .02

My old man got his 06 spring order 800 rev summit x 151. At the time I was riding the blue and yellow rev 600 summit (I think 05..) That 800 rev blew our minds! The X (spring order) model had all the good extras that year, clutch rollers, brembo brake setup, racing seat, better shocks/suspension. Out of the box, no changes, that sled would kick the crap out of anything but a turbo. I got my xp 154 in 08, wasnt the spring order but it didnt bother me that much cause it had BARELY any differences... i think the delux guage package was really the only good benift of it. I luckily got one of the non belt eating xps where the clutches were perfectly in line. It initally felt very weird compared to the rev. As stated by others, doesnt pull over as nice but once your used of it it isnt that bad. I pulled my sway bar which definately made it easier. I am a taller guy (6'2) so naturally the xp is a much nicer platform to ride with the extra leg room and rider position. That being said the rev still rides very nice, just when your sitting on the trail your legs are bent underneath you more. Climbing wise, the xp and rev were right on par. We have been trading off doing mods on both sleds and have them still running almost exactly the same! It shocks people when we roll up with the 06 rev and it shreds every bit as hard the the xp does. On both sleds we have the dual ring piston kit (tired of rings going at 2600kms) which has been probably one of the best upgrades! Ordered the kit out of mcb performance in the states, great service from the guys there! Also before the dual ring kit we put the billet head on both sleds (beware of this on the 800r, had major detonation issues with the 14:1, swapped the domes out to 13.5:1 and hasnt cherped once since!). MBRP can on both, lots of venting all around on both. xp has the upgraded y-pipe, rev has the v-force 3 reeds. Also on the xp we put a cooler thermo in when we were troubleshooting the detonation problem. It seems to keep ti running at a good temp, never have had it overheat on me! With the added hp boosts on both we upped our gearing to the 22tooth top gear and both sit around 80km/hr track speed. Gives them a very slight decrease in pickup for boondocking but nothing that would cause you to get stuck. Sidehilling, they both perform awesome! Both stock skid, stock suspension and I can carve both across the side of any hill! (sway bar out makes this easier as well)
All in all both AWESOME sleds! If you are mountain riding, pull the sway bar out on either sled. You wont regret it!

I have also got a bit of seat time on the new e-tec this year, and that thing WITH the sway bar in handles easier then both sleds! I was amazed at how easily going downhill I could stand on a board and almost effortlessly crank it back up! If im not getting a new one of those I will DEFINATELY look into shortening my stance on the xp!

Hope this helps!!:d:d Braaaaaaaaaaaaaap!!:d:beer::d
