I have an 08 154 that is stock except a DJ clutch kit. In our group there is 4 older revs. I easily beat the stock 05-06 151 800's every time. The 06 159 with clutch work I also beat every time but not so easily. The 07 159 with a rider that is 50 lbs less than me is a roll of the dice to see who wins. If we poach tracks we just trade marks until we quit. If we go fresh tracks it seems like he can edge me out more often than I can. Not scientific by any means but just how it plays out for us, it does seem though that for "out of the box" overall performance the 06 sleds have been the most trouble free. They are a good choice for less money.

Already said: Stock for Stock, the XP always wins. XP guys have put a lot of extra's into their great ol' sleds, but the XP's rule. Love the XP's until I rode the new e-Tec MXZ(XP): WOW one big step forward in overall performance, and it dances in the powder (not much around here this year tho), and flies on the lakes & trails, all with big efficiency gains.
Very cool technology that works.

yes the xp should win vs a rev.

new technology = better right?

But if you take 2 sleds, let an average rider have the xp, and maxwell have my very stable h.o. rev.. He would win.

I think it depends on the rider more then technology.

It is absolutley boggling that this thread is still around lol. They should change it to.... which gives off more light... A candle... Or an Hid bulb.
And yes... put maxwell on a 1980 olympia or something and he will outclimb a turbo apex. I should try and talk to ski doo... why they are making new chassis that get beat by the old ones.

my "S" chassis will take down a tree that would destroy either the REV or XP..

Just sayin...

the t in trees = traction.....

U needed a rev - xp that has more ground clearence than the s'er to get the track to the tree..... then right over ya go...........

its only the peeps with a rev claiming they are better lmao,,

its 5 years of R&D,, 50 less pounds,,, and a way better riding position,, and do you think DOO would release a chittyier sled then what is out already???

Im not knocking the REV's but anyone who thinks stock for stock it will out perform is strait up fawcked in the head?? that same person would also sugest less comercials on the radio and TV is my guess:p

Have absolutely no doub that the XP's outperform the revs but personally, I cannot like the looks of them. The have a weird "alien look" to them, especially with the big windscreen. I'm hoping Ski Doo comes out with a new platform/look next year or I might have to go to the dark side.

My XP hunts predators in the off season.
