the 800r motors make the same hp the only thing different is the ignition the o7 was easier to get more power out of as the knock sensor wasnt so sensitive

do a big bore either an 860 or an 880 in any sled from 07 till current it will work great i just think the 07 is more tuneable you can run it leaner before the knock sensor kicks in wich isnt always a good thing cheaper mods are pipes reeds nos or just up the compresion on the stock engine

I was at Renshaw this weekend and swaped machines to try my brother's XP.

My '06 MXZ Renegade X vs. his '08 MXZ Renegade X, both with 1.75" tracks.
The XP has more noticeable power than mine. It climbs better than mine keeping in mind they are not summits and I do not care to go where he climbs but there is not much difference between a Renegade and a 146"ish Summit. My '06 rides much better than the way he has his XP setup.
I talked to you at Renshaw cabin....good to meet you.

hey guy's

i have a dilemma about buying a new sled, gunna buy this spring or summer to get a good deal on a sled. i want a ski-doo 06 to 08 but i keep hearing the old style revs are kickin the new xp's, is this true?

the rev guys say yes

xp guys say no

this is how its going to be set up which ever one i get

jaws can, DJ clutching, drop and roll,

anybodys help will be appreciated
1. 06-08 incorporates 2 different styles of sleds....
2. "what do you mean by "kickin"? If your talking about climbing..... the only person that will tell you that is someone that still has a rev.... Or someone that really sucks at riding the xp. They arent going to make a new chassis thats worse than the old one.As previosly qutoed "xp=new technology" rev =old

06 is probably the best rev model. I ride a stock 08 xp and love it, my buddy has an 06 rev 154 with DJ kit and floated the secondary. We are side by side on a flat out drag in an open field. Haven't ridden with him in the big hills yet that's coming in a couple of weeks. going to come down to preference and how much you want to spend, can't go wrong either way

Side by side.... But again... Since its a 06 154" it clearly has been messed with quite a bit haha.

I have a 04' REV 151 and with my experiences the XP wins 99% of the time but there have been a few instances where i have just nudged out my cousins XP154, could've been snow, rider, etc. It really comes down to preference and like others mentioned money. Myself i love my REV and still can't bring myself to parting with it but this new E-TEC might be the push i needed.

I thought my 03.5 REV Summit was a night and day better sled than my 06
the 03 was a 144x16x2" track as well....it would climb better than my '06 w a 151x16x2.3

i liked the clutching better on my 03 as well

everyone says dont buy 1st year model sleds...so far....they have been better than the rest for me

buy a Nytro!! hahah! :) no really......

a good running rev will keep up with a slouching xpee but a good running rev wont keep up with a good running xpee. thats why ive added nos :)

I own an 06 Rev and I do like it, but would upgrade to the XP if I had the cash. I rode my friends XP in Quartz Creek last year and run after run the XP would outclimb the Rev. Of course I added a longer track this year and plan to stomp him this year...

I guess it also depends on how much $$$ you want to spend. If I could aford it I would always go for the new technology. A 09 XP would be my choice if the bucks were in my piggy bank!

what ever happen to your 06 enis... i could have used that skid plate

insurance fixed it...... then i sold it 3 days later
it was $800 away from being a total loss
it looked friggen brand new when they were done though
I just dont have the time to get west anymore, maybe 2 trips in the past 2 years is all i have done
couldnt justify riding a mountain sled here, where we get like 3ft of snow ALL YEAR

also have a 2 yr old and baby 2 on the way (wifey is 4 months preggers)
need to take a seat back for a few years...maybe by then I can afford a TS skid, rails and a MCX 180 TURBO kit for the Nytro :d

sorry, I sold it w the skid plate.....

i must admit...i feel VERY out of my element
this pull and go thing w e-start sure is neat
but i have become almost ignorant...havent even opened a panel since i bought it!! hahaha!

the new doo's look nice - especially the new freeride
im not brand loyal, i will drive whatever

Rev guy here....not in my world, the XP are lighter , more power, ride with a group of XPs they all out climb my two revs. Just my observations. Dino
