Is there any reason I cant take my 2.6" track off and throw on a 3"? I know all the 3" models come with the chaincase versus the C3 belt drive thats on my axys with the stock 2.6" track. Will it create any issues? Ratcheting? Why does Polaris not offer the 3" track with the belt drive?

Yes it is 2.6 2.82 pitch 3.0 3.00 pitch you will need drivers, antistab, and cut the tips off the rails. Or find a shaft with the 3.0 polaris drivers on it.

If your current track is a 2.6" 163, I'm looking for one to buy. Let me know if your serious about swapping to a 3".

Don't know why you would swap a 2.6 to a 3", the 2.6 flat out works and know several very experienced mountain riders who have swapped their 3" for a 2.6". JMHO

What drivers are used for the 155 inch 2.25 inch track found on the assault with the chaincase? Is it a 3.0 inch pitch as well?

The 2.6 is a better all around track then the 3". The 3" can be too aggressive in alot of situation's while the 2.6 will doit much smoother and easier. That would be my choice.
3" are great climbing tracks or in super deep snow day's but that about it. The 2.6 will excel at everything else. jmo

How long does the belt drive last ? That's the reason I would get a 3"

can somebody explain the why it’s needed to cut the rail tips and anti stab. Stock 3 inch sled come with different rails than the 2.6?

Correct the 3” rails are different than the 2.6.

Change in drivers increase the chance of track stabbing

Shouldn't be a different rail, if you use the stock polaris drivers you do not have to cut the rail but the chain case sleds come with the splined shaft so you will need that shaft to do the swap.

Or you use Avid or Powder freaks drivers and anti stab and cut the rails and use your shaft, this in my opinion is better way to go. The tracks have to be run way to tight in stock form.

When I did my swap from a 2.6" to 3" lug track on my 2013 Pro, I installed extravert drivers which are located further towards the sides of the driveshaft / closer to the rails. Stock intravert drivers are located more towards the middle of the driveshaft. No need to have shorter rails.

With the aftermarket extraverts, they say you can run a little bit looser of a track, in theory helping with overall HP / more free-spinning track. With the looser track, there is a greater potential of something pushing up on the track and making your rails 'stab' the cut-outs on your track. Hence the name, anti-stab.
