Replace 2.6" track with 3"?

Shouldn't be a different rail, if you use the stock polaris drivers you do not have to cut the rail but the chain case sleds come with the splined shaft so you will need that shaft to do the swap.

Or you use Avid or Powder freaks drivers and anti stab and cut the rails and use your shaft, this in my opinion is better way to go. The tracks have to be run way to tight in stock form.

I cannot confirm for all years but the rails for some 3” and 2.6” are different, different part numbers and different length. The tracks are slightly different length as far as I know due to the difference in pitch.

When I did my swap from a 2.6" to 3" lug track on my 2013 Pro, I installed extravert drivers which are located further towards the sides of the driveshaft / closer to the rails. Stock intravert drivers are located more towards the middle of the driveshaft. No need to have shorter rails.

With the aftermarket extraverts, they say you can run a little bit looser of a track, in theory helping with overall HP / more free-spinning track. With the looser track, there is a greater potential of something pushing up on the track and making your rails 'stab' the cut-outs on your track. Hence the name, anti-stab.

Came across an x3 track and the spined shaft with extroverts on it. Just wanted to verify if I will need to cut the rails and anti stab.

Yes you do and only use the MTNTK antistab. It has a heavy duty bearing that unlike other ones will not fail. I have done this and it’s a must to be able to run the track nice and loose.

Is MTNTK the kit that has 4 wheels? If so that’s the one I put on as well. Definitely beefier and worth the little extra $$.

It’s only about 1.5” you trim off the rails IIRC. Curve it like the factory ends and file em down. Some guys even slide the plastic end caps back over and drill through them.
