I would like to say goodbye to our fellow sledder and friend Rene St Onge, who was unfortunately involved in an individual snowmobile incident on the mountain in Sicamous. Leaving behind his wife and children, brothers and sisters, and his parents.
Curtis and I are good friends with his brother Ray. RIP Rene.
SICAMOUS, B.C. — A Sicamous man is dead after a snowmobiling accident north of the Shuswap town.
RCMP say in a news release that officers received a report of a possible fatal snowmobile accident yesterday (Dec. 9) at 2:55 p.m. in the Queest Mountain Forest Service Road area north of Sicamous.
Police were told that the man had been guiding a group of five other snowmobilers when his snowmobile accidentally rolled into a creek bed and pinned him underneath.
CPR was performed by the group, but they were unable to revive the man.
