I was talking to some sleds this winter, and they were saying to remove the silencing baffle of my stock 800 xp to make more power. Just woundering if any body ever herd of this and if it works? Or would it just make more noise and make poeple think there sleds are faster?

I hope you didn't ask this question on any trail rider dominated forums from out East cause you will not be a very well liked fella. :d

I talk to my sled all the time, it never has once told me this.

Now if you want a real answer, go knock the baffles out of your car/truck exhaust and see how much hp you add.

Yes it will make more noise, no, there are no proven hp gains. Many people swap out to a aftermarket can to possibly gain performance, but its usually a weight saver and a bling factor. Stock cans are very heavy, aftermarket sometimes save you 8-11 lbs. Usually a little noisier, and some claim to increase hp. (1-3)

Leave it stock or make it a quiet can. Lots of members here are trying to make some organized trails here in Alberta. Loud sleds kills trails. Take the bounce you have it right.
My sled never talks to me or any of my friends sleds. If they did they would say keep it quiet
