My t started cold slipping 3 years ago even though I'm on my 3rd or 4th oil/filter change,,, all changes been clean.

Tranny works awesome when warm, so going on year 4 of trying to burn that bad boy out once and for all, Ha.

More to report on in 2040 as T out lasts radio and door pannels !

I've been putting mine Dog in neutral for warm up as it circulates the oil, then get under way using low range with heavy weight trailer till tires reach hard pack,,, way easier on tranny.

Best tranny dudes that have done me good for 20 years is the folks at National Transmission Red Deer.

Pal Don

I never idle in park that's hard on dodge trannys!

Yes, forsure older 5.9 4 speed ones, 727 , all 4 speed caravan ones

The 6 speed caravan I'm not sure, forget from our van

Most jeep trans also have in neutral

There is a mod that tranny guys do to make them circulate in neutral. That's why you got to put them in neutral to check the fluid. My input shaft started leaking real bad this weekend so I am taking it in to get the deal changed and that mod done.

Do mean to get them to circulate in park ?
I had my trans done a few years ago and the put in a new valve body that will allow circulation in park. Suppose to work wonders on these dodge trans. Kinda stupid that you idle your truck to warm it up. But trans remains stone cold.

Yes to Suds Buds tranny thread, Ha.

If I was to fire up my truck and depart after motor warm up, one can feel the motor reving up as tranny slips for a few blocks, then good after that.

Ponoka Johny Dodge mentioned to put tranny in netural even if its for only a few minutes cold as it gets T-oil moving which helps clutch packs bit from the get go.

I've been doing the netural T warm up ever since, full tranny power at all temps now.
Nothing like getting under way at 1200 rpm's apposed to 3000 + grand of slipage.

Been doing the netural thing on all the units now. Just to be on the safe side of things.
