Larry... I've been tinken about gettin back on two wheels... So if I do I will let u try and follow me... Just sayin!! Lol

i would have to say no way a dirt bike would be going through the chit the ranger went through this weekend, as more than likely 85% of the friggin quads, so in my opinion SxS rule, quads suck slough water, bikes for beginners, lol.

seriously more SxS every ride and less quads all the time, we had 2 quads on the last outing, even the chinese husang went were a quad or two couldn't go. good thing we don't diferentiate what people want to ride, bikes, quads, SxS, we will draw the line at johilio and his pos jeep thoughhttps://www.snowandmud.com/images/icons/icon13.gif, that would be a wreck.https://www.snowandmud.com/forum/images/icons/icon7.png

picked me up a new sthil 170 chainsaw, nice in light 16 inch bar, the thing rips, tuned to 13250 rpm, try that with your sled, lol. should be great for cutting downed logs on the trail. looking into either a saw box or a saw mount. trails will be getting wider, and alot less overhangs.

I bought the same saw last year. It's a great little saw. Get the saw mount the boxes become a huge mess with chain oil, especially when it gets hot

So today I lost my saw.

Went back and found it.

I guess it flew out down the trail.

yes the saw boxes can become a real mess in a hurry, need to put a towel in bottom to soak up chain oil. nothing like a greasy chainsaw, ripping into wood.

yes the little saw has some teeth, and for the price sure beats anything else in it's size range. i have a kolpin mount i need to rig up to the ranger. going to be some wider trails when i'm done. Maybe hook up a propeller on the saw to help plane the ranger through the mud? lol

I got mine on sale for $199 last year. Good value.

still on at that price. i also bought some chaps. had a saw take a bite into my leg a few years ago, the jeans stopped the blade, with only a slight skin cut, but that definitely caught my attention. looks like some ear plugs will be in order cause that saw does spin up. and hearing damage don't take long. beats the crap outta poulan, homelite, and a few others. won't replace a commercial saw, but for clearing and cutting trail it will be the cats azz.

Had it for a few years and use it more than bigger one.
Perfect for packing in river boat or atv's.
Pricey but well worth the $ IMO

Had the same saw for about 4 years now. Great saw cuts like crazy for the size and it never leaves my Ranger I don't think I went for a ride and didn't use it.

yes you are comparing apples to organges, a $5-6 hundred dollar pro saw to a light weight pruning saw at $199. the 170 is light and small for hauling in a quad to clear out a trail. i have a bigger sthil for all day cutting, not what i want bouncing down a quad trail though. once poulan purchased husky, i never looked at another one. there commercial saws are usually a good saw.

yes i will use it a bunch, out last weekend i hit every overhanging branch, and had to wiggle to get through a few spruce. the ranger roof is very high compared to those we rode with. one trail we went down more than once, arhhh. had a poulan saw, with us, not mine though, so didn't want to run it much. was brand new, needed some run time to loosen it up and possibly the carb tune, as it didn't want to keep running. with some run time it was working alot better, just not the power of the sthil. not complaing at all, it cut what i needed and that is all that is reguired.

How do you think that will run under water?
