Recommended Pipe and can for Polaris

Can giving as much hp as a full SLP setup?!? SLP setup is no slouch but you pay for it, I find it VERY hard to believe that a can and can only will outperform the SLP pipe can tuner combo. In todays world youa re lucky to add a can and not lose HP, I find it hard to believe these claims...


Any actual info to back up the claims?? If you can prove me wrong I would love to see it...

A buddy of mine has a 2010 RMK 800 with a can on it which blew for no real apparent reason...The dealer did warranty a complete new engine but told him DO NOT take the factory silencer off. As well, only run Shell V-Power. The 10's have had real issues with engine going so be careful...I put a bit of oil in my fuel tank to add a bit more lube...

Not disagreeing but the 2011-2012's have not turned out to be the time bombs the 2008-2010's can be. In my opinion the best pipe for a Polaris 800 Pro, other than stock, is one that has one of those spinning things in it.

Lol, those cans with the spinning things typically cost a bit more, don't they?

It does cost more, but spend the cash on a pipe and can. Then you need the programmer and intake. All that for what... 7 hp and 2 lbs? Just looking at pay out vs pay off. Anyway, just my opinion. Mine is staying stock until such time I get one of those spinning things.

Then I would love to see them on here and post a claim.. haha Sorry for involoving ya, just saying those numbers are a LOT considering "can" designs are really good in todays sleds as far as being free flowing, unlike old sleds when you could really get gains out of poorer flowing exhaust systems. Sleds are a lot more advanced now and a lot more engineering in them, if they had a way to find to cheap HP in both a can or exhaust and it will still fly past EPA BS they will already have it on stock.

I would like to see a dyno sheet to back up the claims. Because the exhaust can business is a large industry and i find it kinda strange that one can out of all the others can gain more power than a full SLP exhaust system? Not sayin they dont work but would like to see some actual real world proof not just claims.

Not diss-agreeing, the bang for the buck with pipes on the new sleds sure isn't what is used to be, mine will be staying stock also.

Yah nowadays the manufacturers have gotten good at makin pipes and now you only gain like 5-9hp and dump up to 10lbs max(not including can). For like 7-800.00 it's a little pricey and also now most of them require the use of a fuel programmer so there is another 500.00. So in total you end up being like 1200.00 for max 10hp. Definitelty not like the old days.

why dont you take the time to phone backus raceing and hear his take on it and why they as a polaris dealer and big on slp told me such , about the can i built for the application . you spend plenty of time so far pounding keys ,and the can in question is by far not like any can built in the industery .

I hear ya on that one, its nice to be able to stop and have a hot lunch!! Also yal if you (sledshedrevy) could post the weight savings it would be good info, Thanks
