Flew down to Minneapolis this morning. Rented a car and drove the rest of the way to Sioux City, Iowa.
Some cool old brick buildings downtown.
Will have to wonder around a bit more tomorrow after the class.

They sure like to rape people on the internet charge. I wonder how many people pay $22.00 to stare at Facebook and Instagram while flying?.

The practice kiln at FLSMIDTH.
Was an interesting day.
the instructor was pointing out the thrust pads inside the pillow block (journal bearings). He pit his finger in too far and one of the oiler cups caught it.

talking with others I had thought he lopped the tip off. But he's on his way back. Supposedly the hospital slapped a bandaid on it. So I guess not as bad as it could have been.

Bnorth is correct. Our plant doesn't have kilns. We have dryers. But we can relate a bunch of stuff.
This one they let new hires and classes work on. Teaches us how to axially balance the drum (kiln) between the thrust buttons.
(Meaning we aren't riding against either thrust end).
Was a pretty cool 3 day corse. One of the better ones.

Is it going to be parked there or is your son going to move it to a different location?
