there was a big Fiber Optic theft in St Albert that knocked out internet earlier this week.

Someone cut a bunch of copper and fiber optic lines in Grande Prairie a month or two back. Didn't steal anything, just opened up the greenbox and cut everything inside. Left the entire northeast of the city without any Telus services.

That's exactly what happened here. Good thing it was in a new industrial park and only affected 2 businesses.

I was driving on yellowhead this summer and at 149st there was copper thieves in broad day light, shopping carts and all harvesting wire that had been dug through when they were lowering the grade for new construction. It was surreal not even 50ft from construction workers it was crazy.
