Boulder and Frisby from lower town at the turn of the century( 1900) this area because of disputes with the railway was know as lower town , upper town ,Farwell and then Revelstoke which was further south. The paddle wheelers stopped along the riverbank with miners for the gold rush up the Big Bend .
The house on the far left still exists today and is the oldest in town
That house is at the corner of third and Mackenzie , not in lower town/ farwell. The house I am referring to is at 503 Wales . Just off Douglas street in lower town/ Farwell areaThere is that house now.
