Does anyone know roughly how many amps a rad fan will draw? bought a rad and fan for a ranger sxs online to mount as an extra rad/heater for the cab of wy sxs prowler and i am wondering if i will have to put in a relay after the switch to run the fan? thanks

Good point! Rad should be in on the bus tomorrow. Will see what the fan motor says on it as for amp draw. could get a little complicated in getting it all wired up.

I don't have a second fan, but on my rhino I wired in a 40amp relay that powers a fuse box with 10, 15 and 25 amp fuses for accessories.

why an extra fan . I just purchased a ranger ...
Do I need one ?

no you dont need a second one. i was on kijiji and saw a new one for sale that fits a ranger sxs for $200! could not go wrong! i wanted something to hook into my coolant system to be able to work as a cab heater. i figured that i could mount this one in the roof of my sxs roll cage and wala heater for $200 plus some minor wiring to power it. and if its hot out then just reverse the polarity and noe i have a second rad to keep the engine running nice and cool on those hot summer days.

im going to install one if not two water temp gauges to monitor temp to be able to make sure that the added rad is not changine the factory cooling properties and not be going the other way.

rad arived yesterday on the bus and is just as pictured!

cant wait to start mocking things up! will post pics as things go along.

That could be max amp at startup, go to the flex-a-lite website and look up 180 extreme, should show you amp startup to give you an idea.

I know when I had one on my truck the lights would dim a little on startup.
