not sure what you guys are thinking, the overall tire diameter is the same 25, just the rim sizes are different, yes it's 4x4.
as long as the tire circumference is the same you can have any rim size you want within reason. a 25" tire from the same manufacturer is the same with a 10, 12, or 14 rim

Ya I am a retard, then I would say buy some cheap takeoffs and throw tires on them.

just base your tires off your motor is a good rule of thumb.

dont throw 28s on a 450 for instance your not going to like the results.

as we buy these bikes to have enjoyment and fun as well as go through the mud.

when your buying these new tires also keep weight in mind rotating mass will make a bike feel sluggish.

yeah just what i was thinking, that straight rear axle hangs real low, was thinking a 27 tire would give a little clearance, but power would drop. may have to go with a 26" tire. took it for a ride today after finally getting it back together, may not want to go bigger than 26 tires. it is no king quad, but should work as a second bike.

they are a long way out. bonnyville is a few hrs drive. may stop out that way if a job pops up out there.

may have to go and see the capt'n in sylvan, says he may have tires with air in the bottom half of tire. keeps showing me tires with plugs sticking out of the lugs. says they aid in traction, only wants 200 / tire says they are custom. WTF.:d:beer:

yeah your right, could be shipped. not in a big rush, but would like to get an idea what will work and fit. lots of take off tires on the net, why is it that guys selling these think they are worth there weight in gold, they don't want them, neither does the dealer. hmm just my observation.

you can get a set of zillas in 25" for 12"front and 10"rear rims. Not sure if they will measure 25"tall or be shorter? I have the same rim combination on my scrambler and run 24" bear claws. If you have the 4 on 4 rear bolt pattern on your xplorer you can probably pick up some used rear hubs off a 03' predator that is the only year they had 4 156 bolt pattern (same as a sportsman) 04 and newer preddys have 4 110 bolt pattern. These hubs work on scramblers.... I'm guessing they probably would work on an xplorer too, but don't know for sure. I wouldn't want more than a 26" tire but to each there own.

the front's are 156, but the rear are 4x4 so they won't fit. most tires seem to run at least an inch short. i would like a little more axle clearance for the mud, and was leaning to a 26 tire. scramblers may be geared different and as a performance quad you want a lower center of gravity for cornering, i may be wrong but that may be why you have 24's on your machine? although these 25's are 23 and a half now.

For about a $100 or less, I have put SwampLites on my Cat. I'm extremely happy with them. Just a good all around tire. imo

look like an interesting tire. a lot less side sip than mud tires, only set back i see is that i will have to get new rear rims. was leaning to mudbugs or bearclaws, but still open to suggestions.
? the swamp lites do they measure 26 in diameter

What I said in my post was if you want to go to a 12"rear rim you should be able to swap the rear hubs over to a 4 156 pattern (same as a sportsman) hubs from a 03 predator should fit they are 4 156 they fit on scramblers so they would probably fit on the xplorer. If you don't want to swap rear hubs and rims then the best thing to do is find a tire that will fit on the 10" rim, you will be able to find any tire you want to fit on the front 12" rims to match.

thanxs forgot about swapping over just the hubs, will check into it, can get 12" delta steel rims for about 70 each in ab, royal distributing lists for 49 + shipping. may end up the easiest. still looking, no decisions yet.

You know if you went with a 16" tire you'd have a shorter distance to the ground when you fall off and the splash wouldn't be as big:rolling: You'll never live that day down. On a serious note, I know of 2 14" XTR's and I can find out if there 26 or 27 and $$ if you want.

will likely be too large for rims, thinking 26 tire max. although floatation tires may work.:d
