Q: what's it like owning a mountain sled on the flatlands?

Just got back from my first mountain trip. I rode my 2012 Polaris SBA 144 2" 800, but I'm not entirely happy with it as a mountain sled. So, I'm just wondering what is the experience of living with a ~155" mountain sled on the prairies like?

You never have to worry about getting stuck

I also never pull my sled out at home unless theres a foot and a half of snow or more also cuz itll run hot with barely any snow but thats also why ice scratchers are a benefit

I have no issue with mine riding around home. Also don't use it unless there is a far amount of snow. Don't have issues with heater or anyhting. I never drive on hard packed.

No problems.I ride my 162" in fields 6 inch of snow, or mountains over rocks in the pow...never have any heating problems unless on a whooped out hard packed trail then the scratchers go down.They are just as fun as a short track but better LOL.

Guys I usually ride with all have 155 or 163's, like calgarysledguy says, they work fine here, just use your scratchers.

i have a 144 and all my friends and family members are the same or longer. its flatter than flat here with the odd bunny hill, and noone runes scratchers or ever has over heating problems.

I rode a Polaris 800 long track the last 2 winters, could stop half way up anyhills and go.it was way faster than my sons new 800 Assault too..anyway,we sold em both and ride old sleds again..Having a mortgage again kinda dampens having a nice sled for a while anyway.

Not bad, find some nice drifts on the ditch. 155 track never gets stuck in the ditches either!! Lol
