Re: HydroVac Truck Required - Pigeon Lake

I know a guy that may possibly be able to help you out sbr, or he may know of someone in that area.
Give Nilsson Contracting a call, ask for Cory. He lives just by the village, and has worked that area for 20 some years

Re: HydroVac Truck Required - Pigeon Lake

Inside? Could get messy. Too compact for a shovel and a little sweat?

It's been sitting for years and after we compacted it it was like cement this spring. Had 6 young guys go at it (with is old supervisors) for 1.5 hours and got less than 1/4 done. We don't have the manpower to continue so it "put up the cash".
There's nothing really in the basement except steps so mud being flung around is ok.

I would gladly help you out but am a little far away. We have done some jobs similar to this. Not all the way around mind you. It shouldn't be too bad if you have a couple access points. If it is just tamped gravel should be able to do with a 3" hose to.

Re: HydroVac Truck Required - Pigeon Lake

hydro dig is one of the cheaper priced hydro vac units, able to get into smaller spaces. call around for pricing and availability! and a consistent 18 inch x 18 inch trench will be hard to do. and $$$$$

It's not all about the hourly rate....its operator competence. As far as consistency, depends on ground conditions. Sandy soil,no you can not but in normal clay conditions we can cut steps, ledges etc. we have cut 8 steps out of a confined space trench in the right soil conditions. the equipment is the minor component. Operator is key.

SBR, if you get some prices and want to compare, shoot me a pm and if we can compare I would be glad to help you out.

true, smaller truck is more maneuverable usually, truck would likely be in the pigeon lake wetaskiwin area, unless you drive from Lloyd for free? the hydro dig guys do a good job.

LOL I agree ......... I would even look at just renting a little jack hammer if anything to loosen it and away you go. Waaaaay less cost a little more sweat.
