problems

HELLO
have a 07 rev 800 xrs
had a couple problems today on the short ride we took.
if i turn had warmers on high the tack goes dead at an idle, if over 3000 tack not affected
also do not have any hand warmers on high or low.
third thing was the machine had a mid range boog just like the kill switch
was turned on. seemed to clear up last hr of the ride maybe linked to the hand warmer switch. if the machine was stopped and restarted boog went away.
when the machine is idling the warning lights come on and tack quits
rev it up a little and tack resets and comes back to life. maybe the dess plug is faulty?
any ideas would be appreciated

If these problems happen when the hand warmers are on but go away when they are off, I would look at them as possibly being the problem.

If your head light is not working and you seem to be using alot of fuel ask the local Doo dealer for a relay, or go to Lordco and pick one up.

Thanks for the input guys
had the multi meter out last night no shorts in the hand or thumb warmers
or the kill switch or light switch
changed the trusty old relay have to try it tomorrow and see.
looks like it was the original relay
and yes the machine was using alot of fuel over half a tank in 44 klms of tail and cut block riding a few miles from home no big pulls or thumb to the bar stuff
have also noticed that any wiggle on the dess plug and tack resets and acts wierd.
does any one know where the main ground is located on a 07 rev.

definately sounds like a electrical short to me because of all the electrical things going wrong with your sled. I know you tested some stuff with your multi-meter but i think maybe you have just not found it yet?

problem fixed
changed the relay
moved the idle speed up to 1900
put some silicone grease on plugs
machine ran good with no problems on monday
hand warmers worked fine no tack reseting and mid range bog gone
