Was out checking trails today (Sunday May27/07) I found a new dumping ground along hiway #752 alongside Prairie Creek. There seems to be a problem with people who like the comforts of life in the wilderness, there was a couch a chair and what seemed like several bags of garbage strewed around the random campsite, from people or animals I am not sure? If anyone knows of who was camped in between KM 20 and 21 last weekend or this and saw a couch and chair at thier camp, let me know. Please. I am contacting SRD tomorrow and let them know about it. I was going to clean some up, but there was just too much, I had my quad and haddent the room.

I talked to our local Forestry officer today and they have a plate number off of one of the trailers that where parked in the spot. He said they are tracking the ppl down and will encurage them to come and clean up the mess, if they live too far away the forestry will be doing it and bill them for the work along with the automatic violation fine they are getting. SUCKS TO BE STUPID! I think it should be a common thing to drive in the random camp areas and take down licence plate numbers, then if there is a problem we know who it is. People have to remember that the officersare there for our help not just to fine us for something to do. IT IS OUR LAND!

Glad to see someone watching out for our land. Thanks for stepping up and doing what you did. It would be great to set up another Snow and Mud clean-up. But I live a little far away to really help any. But the next time I go out on the quad I will be taking a garbage bag and doing my part.:bike:

Thats Awesome

I Know The Mess The Spring Melt Can Bring After A Heavy Sleddin' Season, So I Could Just Imagine The Mess You Guys Came Across. I Think If Everyone Carried A Garbage Bag And Picked Up Even 1 Piece Of Trash(and I Don't Mean Old Girlfriends Etc) Then The Quaddin' Areas Would Be A Safer, Cleaner Place, And It Would Give The "greenies" 1 Less Thing To Obviously Complain About. Glad To See They're Gonna Get A Fine, But I Really Hope Its A Substantial Fine, And Not Just A $50.00 Fine(0r So)

Good someone is getting some crap and that someone is watching. I agree with summitric, Bring a garbage bag with you when you go quadding or camping this summer and pack out an extra one full of garbage, this will make a difference. I was out at bruderheim on the weekend and noticed the signs are still up in the second staging area and that most people have read them by now and notcied its clean. There were a few water bottles and cans on the ground from people that just dont care. One one of the trails theres a blue couch, I cant believe people would just throw a couch off there truck. We'll have to figure out how to remove that.

Thanks to all that helped again.

Yesterday on 630 CHED (Edmonton) they were discussing the off road market. Wow, there are a lot of haters of Quads, Bikes, 4x4' and Sleds out there.
The complaints were noise in campgrounds, booze, garbage and dis-respect to other users of the same trail systems.
It wasn't much fun to listen too when your considered part of the problem.
