Pro Rmk Vs Alpha?

Looking to see if anyone has switched from a pro rmk to a alpha? I have had 4 different pro Rmk’s over the years but I briefly rode a alpha last year and liked the power it seemed to have compared to my rmk. It was a very short test drive i never did get a chance to test how it handled and side hilled. I ride mostly trees and technical riding which my rmk seems to handle easily with how easy it is to maneuver around. I did add a trenchers front end kit to it tho which made it that much more easy to throw around. Just wondering if I should take the plunge and switch this year or buy another Rmk? Any input is welcome!

I still have a my turbo pro and a Alpha. Switching to a Alpha will be super easy if you liked your pro/Axys. The Alpha will out perform the 850 Axys almost everywhere. Part of the reason is the track. The stock polaris track just doesn’t compare to the Alpha. The 850 is a great sled, it’s just not as much fun to ride as the Alpha.

Part of the reason is the track. The stock polaris track just doesn’t compare to the Alpha. The 850 is a great sled, it’s just not as much fun to ride as the Alpha.

I ride with a couple Alphas and that's the biggest difference with that sled. That track (and the Powerclaw in general) works better in 99% of snow conditions.

Thanks for the input so far guys, Would it be worth selling the Axys for a alpha or just adding that track onto the Axys? My Axys seems very under powered now after riding a alpha

The alpha is very good out of the box. The Axys not so much. However, with gearing, clutching and a track there just as good. I can help get your axys working much better if your interested.

if you go into the axys section on here and look at the page titled 850 clutch kit pre order you can see his kits and pricing. It is only 6 or 8 pages down from the top.


Earlier this summer I P/U a 2019 poo 850 163 2.6 could you PM me your recommendations as well as the prices. gearing, clutching w/o the track change thanks in advance

PM JMCX on here . He has an Alpha and previous two sleds were an Axys and a Pro. Great rider and a straight shooter, he will give you the honest goods.

We also have a clutch kit for the 850 $325.00 with tax.

We did a ton of back to back testing last year with Ninner's Alpha and my 850 and the track was the big factor 2.6 to a 3 inch and the alpha makes good power as well. IMO once we tracked the 850 they were as close as close could be. The Alpha does spin doughnuts better than the 850 lol. Truth be told we were trying so much **** last year on both sleds some weekends we went backwards and some we made improvements, this year should be interesting with some of the stuff getting bolted on.

I have driven both a fair bit. There both really good. The Alpha is an awesome sled. Not as much power, but the power gets to the track very well. Best stock track in the industry. The polaris needs a track regardless if its the 2.6 or 3". They both suck. Needs the Camso X3 or X3.2 Will also need avid or powder freaks drivers as the stock drivers require you to have the track piano tight.

All you need for the alpha is a light muffler and clutching and your good to go.

The chassis is still better on the Axys but not buy much. The 850 will have 3 or 4 years of warranty not sure what programs the alpha's had. You will be able to buy the alpha for less as well. Thats my 2 cents..

I’ve owned them all. I’m loving my alpha. Sips oil. Good on fuel. She Rips. Sidehills wicked. Playful ripping in tight meadows The track works so good even when your stuck it easy to get out. In the spring snow it hooks up insane.
It’s the pits on pounded out trails compared to my axys. Pro xm, Gen4 or Yamahas. IMO the Shocks need a revalve if you want to race to the truck. But the alphas not for trails anyways. I bought two new cats last season. No issues on either one. Lower km season for me. It was 4000 km between two sleds
At the end of the day I’d ride anything but boys and all Sled’s are awesome, IMO you can’t go wrong with the Alpha
