Calgary's peerless leader Mayor Nothead Nenshi has proclaimed there will be no gouging and philabustering on his watch and will banish said cheats from his kingdom if this is going on.

In the CBC news article it shows a picture of a LARGE fruit tray priced at $59.99. So I'm looking at this huge tray and thinking...that looks like a NORMAL price. Sure enough...check out the first comment from the Calgary Co-op employee. Sometimes people get it wrong and spread the misinformation.

Here is the Quote:

Calgary Co-op does sell a $59.99 fruit tray, but this is a specialty item available through the deli, similar to a meat or cheese tray. The tray in the photo is of the largest available fruit tray which serves 30 people. This is the regular price for this product.

All Calgary Co-op food centres also offer regular-sized fruit trays that are currently priced at $8.99 and $9.99. The smaller fruit trays were available for purchase when this photo was taken.

Calgary Co-op did not increase the prices of any products at our locations. We continue to offer our products at their regular prices and our weekly sale items are priced as advertised.

We have also made multiple donations of food and provisions to organizations throughout the area including the Salvation Army in High River, Red Cross, the YWCA, Alpha House and countless others.

Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by the flooding and we will continue to support flood relief efforts in the area.

Karen Allan, Calgary Co-op

Hotel rooms have max price for the room posted in each room, right? I thought the hotels can't charge more than that price.

Just went back to the CBC news article mentioned in the first post. The picture and comments of the large fruit tray have been removed.

Someone at CBC probably got his or her Wee Wee slapped for posting misinformation...oh, my mistake...it is the CBC, so nothing likely to happen.
