However..................my neighbour told me a cousin of his from evacuated High River finally found a room at the Holiday Inn in Strathmore and they are being charged $385/night for said room. That might be GOUGING!

In the CBC news article it shows a picture of a LARGE fruit tray priced at $59.99. So I'm looking at this huge tray and thinking...that looks like a NORMAL price. Sure enough...check out the first comment from the Calgary Co-op employee. Sometimes people get it wrong and spread the misinformation.

There is a guy offering to pump water for $80 an hour on kijjiji not going to put the add up but that's steep. Go help out for free if you have a pump I earn less than that in my normal job.

My cousin works in Hinton at Wild Hay oilfield services and they are headed to Calgary with 38 pumps. And they are doing it voluntary no price gouging there

Hotel rooms have max price for the room posted in each room, right? I thought the hotels can't charge more than that price.

yes it may have bee, it wasn't price gouging, it was a bad azz room, put was the only one left in town, as the more expensive rooms are usually the last to go. room was over $200 a night not sure of the price, as it was a few years ago.
phugg have paid $250 a night in a friggin camp. did i say ouch.

Just went back to the CBC news article mentioned in the first post. The picture and comments of the large fruit tray have been removed.

Someone at CBC probably got his or her Wee Wee slapped for posting misinformation...oh, my mistake...it is the CBC, so nothing likely to happen.
