Predictions on the used market?

Unpoular opinion here. But an XM with lets say 1000km is worth more than a g4 with 5000km

As far as the used market goes, what should a g4 with 5000km be worth? At that point it’s close to new engine time and there sure is lots for sale for 75-8000 that don’t seem to be moving. I’m thinking they’re worth 4.5-5k?

Probably $6K, not much more.

Guys might be asking more than $6K for their XM, but very few are selling for more than $4,000 I bet. I bought a heavily upgraded one 3 seasons ago for $6K...... The problem with the G4's and G5's are the repair bills, mainly on the engines. A replacement at 3000-5000 kms and it runs $2,515 if you do the work, only do the absolute bare minimum from Doo and only do the top end, you save your coolant and don't have to take it in for an oil prime or RAVE calibration, otherwise add another $750. You can get cheaper parts so probably could keep it around $1500-$2000 or you don't bother to change the jugs but that's pretty risky. But then you start to ask yourself if dropping a top end on a bottom end with 5000 km is a good idea, so you buy a long block for $4600, still have to install it and still need to take it to the dealer for a prime or calibration and to reset break - in. You can buy a whole 800 ETEC for $2500.

I agree. I sure wouldn't pay any more than that. 7-8 is a dumb move imho
