I hear that Power Merchants in St. Paul has had a big fire. That is terrible news, I sure hope the authorities can get to the bottom of it, and all the best in the rebuild. I am not a Doo guy but my dealings with Power Merchants were always positive. Good luck guys!

Shatty.

Somebody didn’t properly extinguish a belt on an 850?

Seems like a lot of dealers burning up lately.

In light of the tasteless joke about 850's belt concerns it appears the fire was set deliberately by an unknown person or persons. I am a personal friend of the owner and my thoughts are with him as he tries to rebuild his dealership after this senseless crime. Jerry is a class act selflessly spending most of his spare time supporting the industry, fighting for our trails and grooming sled trails in the winter in that area. Hopefully they can catch the person or people responsible for the crime.

My DM posted this on Facebook today. Very sad deal. Jerry was the model store for BRP for many years. Sad to see him go.
One of the worst outcomes of that fire in my opinion. Jerry is not just a model store for BRP he is a true ambassador for snowmobiling. This is saddening for many many many people. It's unfortunate that someone made a comment that made this decision have to be.

So does this mean closed short term or long term?

And what misinformation was leaked that lead to him closing?

Anyone have more info on why he pulled the pin? It sounded like he was gonna make a comeback.

Insurance never came through?

I haven't heard. he has to be pretty down over the whole thing. Built a great business there and very well liked by his peers.

Sad to see him have to shut down. Not sure why he couldn't have moved operations up to his Cold Lake location until things in St.Paul got sorted out.

there was an attachment to that first post.

Yes, directly due to misinformation on the extent of the damage and the state of business affairs shared "officially" by one party on the very day of the fires, the difficult decision was made over the following week to disband all operations of Power Merchants Ltd. We are now very sadly and permanently closed. Please share.

the quote above is directly off of their facebook page.
