powder coating system

How do you do temperature control, I was thinkin about making something similar but maybe not as big. Good idea. I was going to use an old steel tank. Cut a door and weld on some hinges and wrap it in something to keep the heat in.

Depends on Cost and size i guess. smaller ovens ie usin 2 elements u can get away using a scrapped temp control module from an old oven with existing thermocouple. Or you can get a temp pid and send a signal to a solid state relay or contactors...

pids are best cause u can program the deviation ovens tend to be about 50-75* off depending on how cheap they are

paint booth.jpg Finally found a cabinet to make a spray booth out of,It's an old industrial computer cabinet.The bottom should be good for gun and powder storage,I just have to rig up a ventilation fan and filter maybe also lighting.Well i geuss its off to princess auto again.

Just checked out kms tools,they had a good selection of colors(thanks tyler).they're a little pricey.I will be ordering offline once i get into this further.

I just went to buy some powder and got told he wouldn't sell it to me because they have approvals to apply powder coatings....
insinuating that I did not have said approval....
And that it's a controlled product...

what at is that all about??
where can a guy get powder without going online?

They sell it to the public at princess auto. Try someplace else

prismatic powders is pretty good for ordering. eastwood takes a little time.!

oh best way to strip powder coating is gasket remover

Princess auto,KMS tools and spectrum out of calgary(they only do orders over 2.5lbs).
