I just bought what they had at princess auto black,red,blue,white. I'll have to source out a better place to get more colors.It looks like cloverdale might sell it.

I think its gonna be a lot of fun i wasn't able to get it going last weekend,but this weekend I'm painting something forsure.Lets keep this post going and share idea's

When your curing the powder in the oven. You need to get the part up to the cure temp then start your timer. So if it says 400f/10min. That's 10min when the part is up to temp. So if it's a heavy thick part could take a while to get it up to temp. I also try to cure smiliar size parts so they all reach the temp at the same time. Infared gun is a must. As for powder I buy mine from emerald coatings they sell it as small as 0.5 pound.

Nice rainy weekend to be in the garage so I went out and bought a toaster oven off kijiji for $20 and tried out the powder coating.It worked great and the colors aren't to bad,gonna have to invest in some cool colors now that i've seen how easy it is.If i can get some pictures up today you'll see the brake lever and shifter i did in blue.

Tige, check KMS Tools on 184 street, they had all sorts of powder coating powders there.

Was gonna start a new thread haha! But ya here we go!

Been powder coating for a while now and decided to build my own oven!

Specs
4'x4'x8'
4x 2500w elements =10kw
2 convection fans
4 home made potlights
baileys steel studs
roxul insulation
24g galvanize
10g steel plate

Oh and eastwood is a decent started kit :p

How do you do temperature control, I was thinkin about making something similar but maybe not as big. Good idea. I was going to use an old steel tank. Cut a door and weld on some hinges and wrap it in something to keep the heat in.
