Isocyanate is a very nasty substance, I've seen what it does to people, you can't be too careful with that stuff.

Yes it is & thank you. But the extremely harmfull Isocynate has been banned right across North America(2008), because of the short term exposure. It had on persons applying it.

The Walltite Eco we are using, is a direct product from BASF, which is a world wide company. So there R&D department, has made the product safer.

I'm a millwright at this plant outside of Robb, these were taken at turnaround in 06, on top of our incinerator stack.

Thanks!! Ya it takes a Nac almost. To know when to start and watch the weather so you don't loose it. I pay 3.00-5.00 per sq ft for stamping plus the release. But that includes sealing too. And I pay for the concrete ad pump when required. I helped in the stamping in my pool deck and did some patio stones myself. You can also rent stamps from concrete shops

If you can find someone reputable for $15 sq/ft to stamp a complete job, take it and run, that is a steal. Stamping is a TON of work compared to other finishes. Concrete is 50% more over regular, and it takes a lot of time, concrete alone is well over $3 sq/ft.

For someone who's never done concrete before, any decent size pad will not be a good idea. Someone who's never stamped, but knows concrete would be a different story.

Depending on the stamps, you need two people nearly the same weight, in order for them to be the same depth or it will not look good. But there is also different stamps now, that are rollers. Never used them though, haven't stamped for a few years.

Fair warning though, get a deep stamp if you have any plans to use it in the winter, it is by far the slipperiest finish unless the stamping is deep.

But like MATTIAC's pics, man a nice stamped patio looks good.

Yes it's very slippery so we put shark bite in the sealer. It helps

Wow 15 bucks a sq ft is nuts. I had 3 driveways 3 suspended slab decks 3 lower decks and a pool deck done. If I paid 15 bucks I would be broke

My prices are 150ish per meter of 32 mpa plus 8 bucks per meter for fibers. Which works out to roughly 70 cents per sq ft. Then 3-5 bucks for stamping depending on the stamp. Release isnt very much and pump truck is 120 per hour if used. So add that up and I'm into it for 4-7 bucks a square foot. Crazy the
Price difference here to Alberta. One driveway I had done has 4 different color releases in the stamp. Look like slate tile. Then I acid stained the basement with the same colors. Looks sharp

Regular 32 MPA is around $200/meter here and that is contractor price and buying like 1000 meters a year. A few years ago it was even more, but it dropped back a bit. But you have to use 1/2 aggregate which is more for stamped. And concrete for exposed is $300/meter. Plus all the extra charges like fuel, environment, etc. Plus ordering extra jumps the cost even more.

How does 150/meter work out to 70 cents sq/ft though? Don't you pour 4" thick?

Regular broom finish is around $9 sq/ft exposed is around $11 sq/ft and stamped is easily over $15 sq/ft. 4" pad, 10mm rebar on 16" centers. For a while 2 years ago, were charging 11 sq/ft for broom finish. But that is a complete job, and includes removing old concrete or whatever is there to, as most jobs require that. New stuff is a bit cheaper.

Not gonna lie, there is a lot of profit in it even at those prices, but good concrete contractors are hard to come by so it's very easy to get away with those prices. Already 95% booked for the entire summer/fall. Won't be long and will not be accepting anymore work, will be for next year only.
