uncalled for. Come on people we are better than that. The Americans put in a valiant effort for Gold. They placed second not because they failed but because our boys out played them.

these posts are so unCanadian.

Agreed .I wouldn't like to see this stuff if the tables were turned

but they aren't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would say that the US played an exceptional game, and that it could have gone either way. absolutley no shame on their part. but as the famous saying goes" if you ain't first, yer last!"

Gonna open the door here but I disagree , these posts are so Canadian...being a Yankee who had to work up in Canada last summer...so much hatred toward your neighbors to the south...ok I said it so go ahead and FLAME me.... I need to add this. The U.S. played a good game but as said above the Canadians out played them. Congrats Canada ... Dino

Don't paint everyone with the same brush. Some people might dislike the states but for the vast majority of Canadians ,the Americans are well liked i think.

I have about 80% positive experiences with Americans vs 20% negative when in the USA, in a third country it's the other way around. Never had a problem with a Yank in Canada nor gave one any problems. I've been around the world quite a bit and the US and Canada are indeed neighbors in geography and in the heart.

my drive down to Des Moines Iowa to pick up a new fifth wheel trailer was a pleasurable experience. Met a lot of good people and all were very friendly. My best experience was with the group at the poker table in the Casino. The dealer kept calling me sir. I told him he doesn't have to call me sir. Sir would be President Bush. Wow then the conversation got interesting.

i actually thought the final game was very even and that the usa outplayed the canadians in much of the game........ Now the first game they played in qualifier round was a different story- the canadians totally outplayed the usa, but the difference was that incredible usa goalie..... Miller is probably the best goalie in the nhl...... Otherwise no "flaming" needed for you...... This is only a fun thread and no animosity intended! I just wanted to see failure pics(probably should have picked a different pic, but thought this was kinda funny)

I agree, can't we all just TRY to get along? :p

The US worked just as hard for Gold as we did, and as proud as we are of our boys, I really don't find it neccessary to rub it in the US faces, we need to be the bigger people here I think. Sure, maybe the US would rub it in our face if they had won, but again, lets be the bigger country and give them a pat on the back for their effort.

Now, my experience with Americans has been horrifying, I am not painting them all with the same brush, or dissing the country itself, BUT every time I have travelled to the states I am always faced with the most ignorant, rude people I have ever met (Sorry US S&M members) but it is true. I stopped on a corner once and asked a nice lookin gentlemen kindly for directions to a certain restaurant we were looking for; he stared up at us with the most disgusted look on his face and kept walking...this happened probably 3 or 4 times during my travels to the US. I am sorry if we look retarded to you, but please explain why no one seems to know anything in your own country? Oh, and had to laugh at the San Jose fan at the Oilers Vs Sharks game in San Jose a few years back... he was sitting behind us and turned to his buddy and asked.."how many periods in this hockey game?" LOL. Sorry but that was funny. I had a diseased ridden, meth addicted hippy chase me on Venice boardwalk...cussing the most foul words I have ever heard while I was enjoying a nice morning jog in the beautiful California sunrise.. oh and a strange lady called me a whore while I was walking with my boyfriend along a street once too, this one wasn't homeless or diseased ridden, she was wearing very nice clothes and was well put together..then when I stopped and politely asked "sorry, what did you say?" she continued to cuss me out, calling me the "c" word, and saying really, really nasty things.. I didn't even look or talk to this lady and she just decided to cuss me out, out of nowhere! What is up with that? Its like these people sensed I was Canadian or something.. either way, despite the horrible experiences I have had with Americans, I will continue to hold a positive attitude and hope that one day I will actually meet a polite one for a change, 2 weeks away from Florida.. lets hope for the best :)

Meanwhile, lets be lovers, not haters!
