Ok, that is pretty pathetic... but still, I don't believe they are all as ignorant as they seem to be

I don't care who you are or what color your flag is...... that right there is funny.

As canadians we tend to be able to laugh at ourselves more than any other country ever will laugh about us.... It's in our nature, Bob & Doug... Eh? This hour has 22 minutes, Corner Gas all Canadians laughing and poking fun at our own culture and diversities. I feel every Canadian should strive for the ability to laugh at oneself without sacraficing pride. Often when we poke fun at American culture many take offence, they take great pride in their patriotism however remain very insecure about the opinions of others..... Insecurity breeds contempt, this is why many americans when traveling abroad will wear a canadian flag on thier backpack. I am proud to be a Canadian and am proud of the fact that most canadians could give a rats azz who says what about where.

Being able to laugh at oneself requires a solid level of self esteem and a strong self concept.

"Nooooooo Canadaaaaaaaaaa... Look, Canada, we know you’re up there celebrating today and it was a great game! Kudos to you. But as much as we get along, we’re Americans and as such we had to do something that made us feel just a little better. So this past Monday… We banned Canadian rock from the Edge.

Now we get along again, but this was just something we had to do. We hope you understand our passive-aggressiveness. We still welcome your comments and reaction, but keep in mind that "Oh BANada" is officially over."


I believe they did it all in good fun and wish that I could have found the rest of the story but it's gone off the Edge's website.

Don't paint everyone with the same brush.Some people might dislike the states but for the vast majority of Canadians ,the Americans are well liked i think.

This old guy I know said just last week "I don't hate any one american but as a whole it is hard not too." His twin brother is American. Lol

not so much of a "failure" thread but a canada vs usa. I've met some azz hats for americans but i have also met my fair share of douch canoe canadians.

Yeah some peeps need to take a step back and laugh and enjoy the moment because I can tell you that if the tables were turned, things would be a lot worse off for Canadians in terms of us never living it down. A little fun loving humor and joking is part of hockey and most sports. To me, that's part of the game, a CANADIAN game. We still won and the US still lost graciously. I see nothing for anyone to be embarrased about.

But I guess we shouldn't celebrate our accomplishments. Its too bad we have to be ashamed of winning.

No you should not be the least bit ashamed about winning. We all strive to win at what ever we doo. Lady Dirt I feel for you when you were in CA. Moved away from there as soon as I could...from the area you mentioned...for the same reasons you mentioned ...Bunch of a$$wipes there that think they crap vanilla ice cream. I stand corrected for trying to paint all Candains the way I did. I am sorry for that. Like Lady Dirt I was treated very badly by the public while trying to provide a income for my family. Dooing paving in Alberta and having beer bottles thrown at us while we were working, being turned down a trailer space to rent because we were freakin yanks stealing Canadian jobs. Being harassed at the boarder by the Canadain boarder guards ..." isn't there Canadians that can do this ? " 80 % of our crew was local Canadians we hire. And a great bunch of hard working peeps they are, hope they return to work for us again. There are culls in every basket...every race ...every country. Once again I am sorry if I offended any one here. Just try to remember next time the bottles fly at us....if they are full at the bar we will return the favor. Dino
