Polaris is just gonna get worse too.i was reading a magazine and see that they are going to start building all polaris motors(sleds and atv)in mexico as they can hire people for a third of the wage.that will really help polaris out!Buy our motors and get a free cylider of cocain but sorry...no warranty!

Can you please tell me where to get the "Mexico built" sleds & atv's. I would love the cylinder's full of cocaine! That way we can forget about the warrenty, and just buy another new one with the proceeds......lol:alol2:

Hopefully Polaris has a solid 800 in their new Pro as the sled itself rides and handles amazing and after paying the $12,000 + price tag nobody wants a lemon...But anyone who says there are no problems with the old 800's in the dragon has to give their head a shake. Every trip out I see another one coming down the trail on the end of a rope. How can you blame the operator? Most of these sleds are on there 2nd and 3rd engine by the time they have a 1000km.

Walk into any Polaris dealer with your Dragon and see what they give you for a trade in...The dealers don't even want these sleds as there are so many issues related with them. Not knocking anyone for having one but you have to know they have plenty of issues.

So far seems like alot of peeps are having good luck with their new Pro's and hopefully this continues...lets hope Polaris finally has their 800 issues straightened out and this new sled runs as well as it looks and handles cause everything else about this sled makes it a real winner.

well if i didnt have warranty i would have paid 10,000 for my brand new sled and so far i have not needed warranty 4000km and 1 year later.

thats my idea behind no warranty...lower cost...for the guys that can wrench on their own stuff to save some cost

I'm with you on the no warranty thing too. I would just as soon wrench on my own machine rather than some 1st year apprentice @ 80 buck an hour

Do you have some statistics for this claim? I started a thread on here about people having good luck with their Polaris, seems lots are. Mine has 1800 miles with out any issues, I would sure like to know what percentage of these motors have failed. If we believe what we see on here most are on the 2nd or 3rd engine, just can't believe that.

A buddy of mine is a mechanic a fairly large polaris dealership and what he is telling me about the engine failures on the 800's(piston slap, bogging, etc)the 600's voltage regulaters frying the ecm's and it must be bad when the 600's used to be so reliable that now they are starting to line up in the row beside the 800's!Deal with polaris on their 1 800 service number and you'll be jumping from that sinking polaris ship!!I used to be polaris through and through but your ass gets sore after awhile of dealing with them!!!I had quite a few sleds over the years(1996 utra rmk,1997 700 rmk,1998 700 rmk,1999 700 rmk,2000 xcr 800 long tracked,2002 800 rmk 156",2005 900 166",2008 800 dragon 155")and not including the wifes' machines!!So I have been dealing with their bull.... for quite a while and the last few years their attitude has got crappier with the increasing price tags on their machines!!You pay over 10 000 for a toy you kinda want crap to work worry free isn't that the whole idea of buying new!!I switched to cat in 09 and drive my 1000 like it's stolen and it takes more abuse than any of my polaris ever did!So when you're out riding and your buddy on a polaris is having trouble(engine, dealer, etc)it gets a little much when you hear what doo does on warranty and after warranty that makes you wonder what polaris's priority is because it sure is not the snowmobile division!!!I ride alot and its to the point where if I see a new polaris its turn the other way because you run the risk of having to pull the damn thing home!!Polaris better get their head out of their asses because alot of guys are done with them! And the machines are no screamin' hell on the hill either it used to be a polaris rmk made of for a crappy rider now the rider has to make excuses for the machine!!

I have had good luck with all the polaris machines i have ever owned. chit last time i was in vega i sunk the 850 in 5' of water tipped it upside down drained out the water and she fired right up, now thats a good machine. I am sorry people are having so much trouble but you can't expect warrenty when its up.

I wouldn't have been near as pissed over the mini rzr motors but it was a totally new air box system!I could count the tanks of gas that it took for them to pop(doesn't take both hands)!!All polaris customer service was sorry but the air box is no charge!!I saw the letter my dealer got and it said only change air box if customer requests it(pretty shady)! So $9000 for two rzr's and $2000 a piece for the new engines you can see why I don't trust polaris!!I told that I didn't expect them to cover 100%, I said I'd eat the labor if they did the parts but no!!

I was a Polaris die-hard (geuss not that hard), back in the 80's through to 2004. Got my second Ski-Doo in 2004 (renegade XPSII 800 H.O.), first one was a 1981 blizzard 5500. I've looked hard at Polaris every year but they just don't doo things as good right now as the XP chassis. When a buddies 2010 Polaris RMK 800 blew this year, I had an oppurtunity to take a close look at it and man, I just don't like the electronics on top of the belt guard, the way things are hidden even with a full hood to open. To get at the belt is a major undertaking of bolt removals and panel removals.
Maybe your brother needs a change?
It worked for me.......

Hey Duck don't you think your being a bit "tough" on Polaris! Lol! It's a pretty color don't you think!? Lol! After its all said and done the dealer told this guy to never put his back can on it and premix fuel slightly forever...Sounds like t Polaris has it figured out! Hahaha!
