death of a teenager and several fires has lead to a recall with 133,000 Polaris off-highway vehicles

The death of a teenager and reports of several fires has prompted Polaris to recall certain recreational off-highway vehicles.
The recall involves about 133,000 Polaris RZR 900's and RZR 1000's from model years 2013 through 2016.
Polaris has received more than 160 reports of fires -- one resulted in the death of a 15-year-old passenger after a rollover -- as well as 19 reports of injuries including first, second and third-degree burns.
Polaris and the Consumer Product Safety Commission are warning consumers to stop using these recreational vehicles immediately and contact their Polaris dealer for a free repair.

I have a RZR 1000 so was very concerned when I seen this. Called my dealer here in Wetaskiwin and got my machine in right away yesterday. Thanks very much for posting this very much appreciated. Seems I have been having power steering problems off and on for the last year and this is part of the recall. Hope to get it out of the shop end of the week and put some miles on it this year
Thanks

I guess you should read up more then....
Do you think they send out recalls and stop ride orders for fun ?

i came close to pulling that plate off, as it was a pain to remove oil filter and spark plugs, a new bolt, nut and wing nut solved that. i could see a larger plate keeping some of the heat down from entering the back of cab.
