So who would prefer a reliable factory 925cc N/A sled with 185 hp over a factory turbo with 170 hp that only boosted for altitude compensation? I think it would be better due to:
More torque, lighter, less expensive, less moving and stationary parts, more power at low altitude and easier to add mods. Maybe less emissions too?
Downside could be more vibrations, lower revving, slower revving, more rotating mass causing more gyro effect.
Not picking one specific manufacturer here only I believe this may be a good alternate direction for manufacturers.
I don't think the comparison should be related to after-market turbos or poorly executed big bores either. I am sure any of the 4 manufacturers would be capable of building such a beast. And old tech 1000's and 900's should not be compared too either as those were all too heavy and under-performers.
haha 185 at altitude? the current 927 big bores cant even make stock HP at elevation. do you really thinnk the manufacturer can make an extra 50HP with 75cc??????? no way.
big bore motors are going the way of the dinosaur. No one wants an engine that loses 30hp anymore now that altitude compensation from the factory is available. cant beat consistent HP.
if someone wants 185 they can program that in with their phone in seconds
No one said "at altitude" The current 850's are pushing near 170 HP at sea level, to ask for 15more for a 925 is not a stretch. Modding an 850 N/A now can get you 1/2 way there. Reality is most sledding is done below 6000-7000 ft and losing a bit due to elevation will still have you riding a sled with more power than a compensating turbo that pushes 165 HP all day long. Assuming losses of 2% per 1000 ft.
Did Polaris at least acknowledge the problems to their customers or did they just deny deny deny like BRP with the bulkhead?You are so "yesterday", the wiring and connectors were all addressed with updates in 2018 and more when the Patriot released in 19 models. Your comment about it is just like me knocking poor quality bulkheads on the G4. We all know that got resolved about the same time. Should we still be talking about it? I won't even mention clutching or motor mounts etc., etc.

i have to ask the polaris guys an honest question.
1. Chris Burandt is Polaris #1 man correct?
2. how come they have not listened to a thing he has said?
3. the man has been running boost before skidoo even had a sled that could be boosted, fawk we were still carbureted! I certainly thought polaris would be first to the factory boost game with his input. Why not?
4. chris was chopping tunnels way before it was cool, all of his brand new machines from polaris. Why did skidoo beat them to this aswell?
