There's alot going on in those patent documents. I would imagine all of the variations of intake tracts are related to any EPA handcuffing that may exist. Polaris has such a spotty track record of new engine designs, I wouldn't want to be an early adopter on this. For those who would purchase, I wish them luck as with 2.5 legit manufacturers right now we need some variety.

These manufacturers have a whole slew of tech waiting for release but it becomes more about marketing and what your competition is doing that dictates when they will release it. All manufacturers have had a factory ready turbo design for years but only when your product is getting stale will it be released. If they all dumped their best on the market at once they would have nothing for next year. It is true that Doo has driven the pressure for a turbo this time around and by doing so has bought some more time before their customers insist on a new chassis. Polaris has felt their product offering was progressing fast enough, until now.

So true, to believe otherwise is crazy, Doo was running their turbo on the snow for 3 yrs before it was released to the public to think that polaris and Cat arent going to do the same is funny. recent examples of change 2011 polaris pro doo followed up in 2012 with the XM chassis, 2016 polaris axys doo followed up in 2017 with the 850 g4, 2019 cat alpha,2019 polaris 850... fast forward to 2020.5 doo 850 turbo... polaris and cat yet to answer but they will and I'm sure some of it will be based on tracking doo's turbo sales which speaks to demand as well as current economic circumstances which will also be impactful on future sales as well as new product releases, as there are great expenses associated with these new innovative designs. bottom line is we all benefit from the advancements regardless of which manufacturer did what first. And they all help fat old bastards like myself keep riding!... LOL
